Day 1 of the 64 years/teams of IU Basketball Tournament

Vote for the team you think would win

Each day (Mon-Fri) will have 4 games and the polls will be open for 48 hours. I will try to post the new day’s games at noon EST.

HSN members are encouraged to discuss memories of the teams involved in today’s matchup, post links to videos/games, etc. before voting on that day’s matchups.

The bracket was seeded sequentially by year (2020-1957) from most recent to oldest.

In the first game, the 2020 team is shocked when little used bench player Clarence Doninger comes off the bench to hit seven 3 pointers against the pack line defense in a dominating win.

In the second game, the '88-'89 team prevails as Jay Edwards is unable to stop Jay Edwards, who scores 37 points, while holding Edwards to 13.

Jay Edwards was a bad man at IU. Too bad we didn't get 4 years out of him.

One of my favorite Hoosiers...imaging him draining 3's for us this year. Would make virtually any Hoosier team better adding him to the starting lineup.

3 points shooting of 53.6% on 4.8 attempts per game one year and 44.8% on 5.3 attempts the next. Wow!

Indeed, but as Pacers scout and former IU player Courtney Witte once told a room of us, Jay couldn't guard a sidewalk. 😂😂😂

Well...neither could Alford but both those guys probably played as many minutes as any starting guard in our team history lol.
