Kelvin Sampson replaces the man who beat him in the 2002 Final Four, Mike Davis. Jerry Oliver steps in for a year to lead the 1970 Hoosiers while Lou Watson recovers. The 4 J’s: Jim Harris, Ken Johnson, Joby Wright, and Joe Cooke will face off with the 2007 Hoosiers with DJ White and Roderick Wilmont.

Mike Davis rightfully complains about the match making in this one. The pinnacle of his career NCAA runner-up 2002 Hoosiers face potentially the greatest team ever to not win the championship, the one loss 1975 Hoosiers. Scott May has recovered from the broken arm that limited him to 7 mins in their only loss. He will team up with fellow All Big Ten teammates, Steve Green, Kent Benson and Quinn Buckner looking to avoid a similar fate as 2002’s #1 Duke's upset loss at the hands of the 2002 Hoosiers.

The 2nd game was a chippy affair.  Dane Fife was seen biting John Laskowski.  Kent Benson punched Jarrad Odle.  Bob Knight cussed out Mike Davis.  Tom Coverdale cussed out Bob Knight.

In the end, talent won out.  Eight, count them EIGHT players that went on to the NBA were on the '75 team.  And, that was not even in the one and done era.  Hard to beat that kind of talent, even when it means a Final Four team has to lose.  '75 cruises to a 14 point win.  In his post game presser, Bob Knight does comment that A.J. Moye was a player he would have loved to have the chance to coach.
