In the first game, Uwe Blab's unconventional triple-double (points, rebounds, and turnovers) helped lead '82 to a 5 point victory.

In the second game, the '74 team had the talent (7 future NBA players), but their overall youth could not match the experience of the '87 champs.  Down 1, Keith Smart missed a baseline jumper with 3 seconds left, but Steve Alford out-jumped Kent Benson and tipped it in for the game winner.
