I still have concerns whether Hunter will ever be the player he had the potential to be before his condition. Agree on Hunter. I'm hopeful for him, but with him I actually saw a less athletic, better shooting Smith. What I mean by that is that I didn't see in Hunter, at least yet, a guy that can take his man off the dribble from the wing and get to the basket, etc. He's more of a spot-up shooter and a guy that can operate in the paint, but not a wing that can attack the basket. I am really intrigued by Geronimo and am hopeful that he can have an Oladipo/OG like freshmen year. If he can do that and Race makes a leap, and Hunter can just replicate his end of season shooting, along with some of the other guys improving then IU will be just fine. It sounds awful, and again I really don't want to come off as bashing Smith, but I'm excited by the prospects of more time for guys like Race Thompson, Jerome Hunter and Geronimo. I realize they don't all play the same position, but there will be a trickle down effect of minutes and times where IU plays a little smaller with Hunter, etc. Again, you hate to lose an experienced senior, but I'm excited by the prospects of some of these guys playing more. I think there's more grit, more focus and more upside with these other guys. Exactly where I’m at. I had a bad feeling that Archie was going insist on going with the Smith, TJD, Brunk lineup again next year... I really don’t think that would have led to much better of a season than we had this year. Smith leaving gives us the opportunity to go with more three guard lineups and will allow Hunter, Thompson, and the freshmen to get more minutes. If they develop like we hope they will, that significantly raises the team’s ceiling. And it’s better for their development beyond next season as well. Brass Cannon
Lol Quitting would be leaving the team midseason like Cujo. Guess Cody Zeller and Oladipo we’re both quitters.

I don't see Hunter being effective as a starter. So, assuming we don't start all 3 bigs, it will be very interesting to see what happens at the 3. Do we go super small with Lander, Phinisee, and Al, or could Geronimo actually be ready to start,

Jackson Kellogs
Honestly not worried about him leaving at all.. we have plenty of guys who will get more playing time and step in and take that roll. Time for Jerome to step up and be a dog! Expecting a big jump for him! Justin was a cancer at some times throughout the season, not sure if he fully meshed will with the team and Archie’s system.. best of luck where he goes. At this point, I see Hunter as having the potential to be a three point specialist off the bench, but with defensive limitations. He simply has not shown the ability to stop a high scoring wing. TJD and Brunk can't guard the wing. Lander and Phinisee are too small to guard guys that are 6'4 to 6'7. Al can guard smaller wings, but not bigger ones. That opens the door for Franklin and Geronimo too pick up a good portion of Smith's wing minutes, while Race will obviously benefit by taking Smith's 4-spot minutes. GrangerHoosier
He gave IU 3 years and got his undergraduate degree. Justin Smith didn't quit. He just moved on to what's next for him. No disrespect meant, but I just got more excited for next season. This program needs some new blood.
