That's why I specified Orlando. Shows how much of a Disney fan I am.

We love Disney.  So much more than just a theme park.  Would not go this year and pay Disney prices for a limited experience.  When they reopen, so much will be closed.

If you do have another opportunity to go in the future, do a good amount of advanced planning.  It's hard to just show up and do what you want to do.

My first visit to Disneyland in Orlando this fall.

Best time to I believe is in the fall. September/October during week days. I'll echo what others said. Do your homework. There's a science to Disney. You don't want to be a robot of course but having a good plan is vital. Enjoy your trip!

I saw where there are great restriction on going to Disney this year.  If you had bought the park hopper passes you won't be allowed to use them because you are only allowed to go to one park a day.  Also they are not selling anymore tickets or rooms for 2020 so the only ones that can come in is the ones that already had bought tickets in advance.  I wouldn't recommend going to Disney this year because of all the restrictions and they will start selling tickets for 2021 in September.

Not only that, but most of the shows, a good number of restaurants, and a lot of the shops are closed, at least at the start of their re-opening.  I can't imagine paying that price and then getting about 50% of the value from it, all while wearing a mask in the heat and humidity.

After my divorce I took the kids 4 times to Disney in 7 year span.  The prices then were pretty high  and I only went to the moderate priced resorts but now I see the prices are just getting to high.

We'll go back once everything is back to normal.  It's just one of our favorite places.  The wife and I even looking ahead and doing an adult only trip once the kids are out of the house, which is still a few years down the road.

I love Disney as well and hopefully in a few years I could go with my granddaughter.  Actually me and my ex wife was planning on going there on our honeymoon until other things happen so we had to cancel that trip

I love Disney World as well. Used to go every October, for the Food and Wine festival at Epcot. Temperatures were great. And if it rained. It did not last long. Got the park hopper pass for all of the parks.  Not just Epcot.

Highly recommend.... when the park is up and running. Normally.  The way it should be. Taking your grandduaghter there. Guaranteed memories for life.

I have been to Disney a total of 7 times the first when I was 8 years old but when I took my two kids it was a great memory.   I always drive to Orlando and stay in one of their resorts and you never have to get in your car once you arrive there.  Just get on one of their buses which will take you from the resort to any of the parks.

Currently. Some of the Disney Resorts are open. I know this, as I follow two Disney You Tube channels.  However, right now,  the only available transportation is by bus. And the wait times are extreme.  No monorail. No uber. No nothing else.  Some character breakfasts. However the characters just pass by. Don't stay at a table.

Not a value based time to visit Disney right now.  And I know this is not their fault.

Oh, and Disney started having to pay for parking last year.  Don't know if they have lifted that now.

I saw that the resorts started charging to park in their lots which is ridiculous.

It seemed before the Pandemic... Disney World was doing everything possible to limit the crowds.  Increased prices for everything. And it is ridiculous to have to pay for parking. We always rented a car during our visits.  Having to pay on top of the rental fee... unreal.

LOVE Disney World. Had thought, last year, if had money and could actually get off, we could go this year for my 50th.  “Glad” neither money or PTO worked out.  Next year will be Magic Kingdoms 50th so I’m sure WDW will be even busier than normal.....so looks like maybe 2022 if all calms down 😕

I like staying onsite too.  You can escape the real world and [my wife says I’m crazy when I say this😂] and relax. Wake up early, drive to the park, stay all day and come back to hotel late.  Make part of a day for downtown Disney....I mean Disney Springs or the pool or something.  We usually spend a week.  A couple days at MK. A couple days at Epcot and then one each at studios and animal kingdom (those will have to change now).

Anyway, I’m going on too long😂...getting all happy thinking of Disney and ‘getting away”. 🤔💕

The Las Vegas casinos started charging for parking last year as well.  Now... after opening up. Again. Most, if not all casinos are no longer charging for parking.  And currently there are some extremely low room rates available. As well. One casino. The Park MGM has gone completely smokeless.  Unbelievable for Vegas.

Like hearing from you.  Most of Disney Springs opened up a couple of weeks ago. Mandatory masks, with signs for social distancing.  I really hope you get a chance to visit, again, once things return to normal .  In the meantime.  Stay safe.

Thanks Mile 😊. In the mean time we try to get our fix by watching Tim and Adam, but of course they haven’t done much lately in that regard.
You stay safe too out in beautiful Colorado. I miss it out there.

I have always enjoyed planning the Disney vacation just as much as going on the Disney vacation.  I do a lot of research to determine not only which park we want to be in at a specific time, but actually what section of that park we want to be at.

Absolutely love to be in the parks after dark.  We usually go for 7-10 days.  Fall is my favorite time of year, as the weather is much nicer than summer.  Last trip was Thanksgiving week in 2018.  Because of the holiday it was more crowded than we were normally used to, but all of the Christmas decorations were up which was a new experience for me and the kids (the wife had previously been during the holidays).

Would like to go next year, but as @rd726 stated, it's Disney World's 50th anniversary.  Crowds will be high already, and if the pandemic lingers, it could be chaotic.  2022 is more likely for the Fouls family.

You may have already checked this site out. But in case you haven't. Worth a look :

AllEars.Net - The Unofficial Disney Vacation Planning Guide - Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line

She also does a ton of You Tube vids.

@5fouls I love that part too 😄. My wife even calls me “the vacation nazi” because if it. 🙄. But it sure if satisfying/fun

My wife and kids used to feel the same way.  But, over the years they have realized the old man knows what he is doing.  We're moving around, having fun, and getting everything done while other people are wasting time in line and/or fighting crowds because they did not do any planning in advance.

We usually get a 5 day Hopper pass and usually do 2 days in The Magic Kingdom and a day in the other parks.  I have stayed at the Caribbean twice, Port Orleans 3 times, art of Animation resorts.  I just love the fact that once I got to the resort I never had to use my own vehicle for the rest of the week.  I just go to the bus stop at the resort and you can get a bus to any park you want.

I am the dumb one because we always went in June or July which is probably the hottest times to go.  I have heard the Magic Kingdom stopped have the night time electrical parade which was my favorite parade.

Trust me.  We've been in June a few times as well.  Oppressive humidity and daily afternoon thunderstorms.  Give me October or November every time.

Funny you should mention the Main Street Electrical Parade.  I am proud to claim that the Fouls family were the very last people to see that parade at Walt Disney World.  It's not only that we were there in the park on the last night it performed (October 9th, 2016).  We were actually on the very edge of Frontierland when the parade exited the park.  There was literally no one to the left of us when the performers, floats, etc. exited.  We were the last ones they saw.
