I like to stir things up a little and get some discussion going. Donovan calls IU and says I want to be the coach at Indiana beginning 21-22. You arebthe AD do you take him up 9n the offer and make it happen or say we have our guy?

You ask Donovan what it would take to get him here this season and then tell Archie Miller to pack his bags.

I don't think we will have to worry about it because I don't see him coaching in college again.  He will get one of the NBA openings this year and would be nice if it is the Pacers.

I don't think so either but just for fun. IMO if you can get Donovan yiu do it no matter what. Ethical or not that would tell the world IU is serious about basketball once again

Maybe it just me....  I don’t consider the coaching ability of TC to be even remotely close to that of Billy Donovan. Not even a sniff.

Super high demand for a guy like Donovan without question.

Yep. Both coaches are on different levels.

Surprised that there's not much difference in record between Nate (4 years with Pacers) and Billy (last 4 years with Thunder - excludes 1st year when he still had Durant) given almost everyone (including me) thinks Billy is a far superior coach.

I don't have numbers to support this, but it seems many Pacer fans have complained that Nate's teams peaked early in the season and usually had losing records in the second half of the season.

Ty Lue to the Sixers and Billy Donovan to the Bulls?

Don't get the love for Ty Lue because he only won because of Lebron.   Also I would not really want to coach Philly because I don't think the roster was put together well.  They have all wings and big's nd no real perimeter players.

One thing the West is far superior to the East so that could be why it is close.

Just saw on the scroll on ESPN that the Pacers are looking to talk with Becky Hammons assistant in San Antonio.  What would you think of having the first woman HC coaching for the Pacers.  If she is totally qualified I don't think I would have a problem with it.  I always thought Pat Summit could have coached a men's college team so why not try it.  I would wonder if it would make it more difficult to bring in free agents if they don't feel they would want to play for a women.

That list does nothing at all for me.

Well that is the reason why I was hesitant to make a change.  these are the kind of names you see when there is a coaching vacancy.  I would assume they would at least talk with Donovan about the opening.  I would also hope they would look at Kenny Atkinson as well.

I usually agree with your takes on things, but....

this one just doesn't sit well with me. Are you saying we are not serious about basketball under the current head coach?
