I don't understand the scheduling conflict crap. The champions classic is always at the start of the season. They could fit in a series with whoever earlier on in the non conference. It's good for IU to consistently play and win against the top teams in the state and they are usually good and competitive games. I do think it should be expanded to includ other in state schools and make the event an entire day event. If IU wants to be able to say they are the best program in the state then they need to consistently play and beat Butler and Notre Dame. Just like they get the opportunity to with Purdue since they are in the B1G.

I think the event is a lose/lose for IU. If they win it was supposed to happen and if they lose it’s kind of embarrassing.

Only reason to not continue is if it is replaced with another non mid major game. I don't care who it is against but if it is to have another home game against the school for the blind I say keep it. If it could bring back kentucky or start a home and home with arizona or some other decent team I say go for it.
