We are either a not very well coached team or a not very smart team...or some combo of both.

4.5 seconds, down 2 and shooting FT.  Your opponent just missed 1 of 2.  Why do you throw away that second shot?  Make the bucket, force them to inbound and put pressure on them to hit FTs.  Even if they hit 2 you still have a chance at a 3 or you can try your desperation miss if they try the same strategy with probably a second or 2 off the clock.

4-6 in the BIG with a slew of those losses being close ones where we shoot poorly from the foul line.  Hit just 1 more of those 10 misses in regulation and this game is a win.

Just tired of this garbage.

Three years later, the 2018 class with five players contributed zero points in a February home B1G game.

Sam is emotional after losses. I'll have the wife call to check on him.

First half : 8 assists 4 turnovers

second half : 4 assists 11 turnovers

This team has shown in crunch time, when it feels like doing so, it can play absolutely lock down full on clamp down defense.  If we had ANY kind of offensive consistency we’d be at the top of the conference.  Inexcusable to have that many possessions without any set or isolation specifically for Franklin and tjd.

also breaks Archie’s streak of picking good spots for random freshman .  Lander was directly responsible  for 8 of the last 10 points that caused overtime and he big time bricked a 3 inside that 10 point sandwich he gave up

Our theme is so close yet so far away.  See this is why I hate this kind of offense in college basketball because it is to easy to defend.  Trying to get open by beating your player off the dribble does not work in college.  Neither team offense was a thing of beauty.

The key part of the game was when we got up 6 with about 6 to go and could not get a stop.  They hit two 3's to tie up and it just the same thing where we can't make stops to make a run to put the game away.  Also missing 10 free throws in regulation  is a killer as well.  We are just good enough to compete but not good enough to close games out.  We had leads late in the second half at UI and home against UI and the game at UW but the same things happens.  we just can't score enough to make huge runs to put it away.

I know there will be no change this year but Archie will not get ship righted.  His lack of recruiting shooters and actually just good offensive players is killing us.  Usually the offense gets good shots but lately it is not doing it either so the offense is just stagment.
