Yes it matters because it is always better to make the tournament than not make it.  You probably were on here saying making the championship game in 2002 as a bad thing because it gave Davis more time.

I probably was scott.  Not everyone can be as perfect as yourself.

Just want to say as of today I believe that IU is 3rd or 4th 10 seed and that winning 2 games would have a 70% of getting in

IU has to win at least 2 more games just to finish at 0.500 or better overall and be eligible for the NCAAT in the first place.

Right now they're 2 games over 0.500 with at least 5 games left, including the B1GT.

If they go 2-2 over the next 4, they can go 0-1 in the B1GT and will be 1 game over 0.500.

If they go 1-3 over the next 4, they need at least 1 win in the B1GT. In this case, just 1-1 in B1GT means they finish at 0.500 and will probably not make the NCAAT. So they'd likely need at lead 2 wins.

0-4 over the next 4 and they need to win 3 games just to get back to 0.500. In this scenario they might squeak in if they make the B1GT championship game but would mostly likely have to win that.

There's no 500 rule this year
