I know Garvey played his final 5 years with the Padres but I certainly don't think of Garvey when i think of the Padres..  I think winfield, colbert, Hoffman and Gwynn.  Now Tatis.

Randy Jones and Ozzie Smith...

Actually that Padres infield in 84 wasn't bad either...Garvey, Wiggins, Templeton, and Nettles...

First time as a kid I ever cried after a game.  Garvey raising his arm rounding first in game 4 followed by Durham's stuff in game 5.

More I think about it I don't remember crying ever again after a game in defeat.

Cry me a river.  I still can remember Fisk's ball flying through the inside of the foul pole in '75.  My devastation was short lived.

Been working all afternoon and wonder if Baez had been suspended.  If not the MLB is so hypocritical.  They suspended Garrett 5 games for yelling at Rizzo and Castellanos for 2 games for flexing over a player.  I will be disappointed in the starting pitchers tonight if he doesn't throw at Baez.

Slight difference. Reds had been in World Series a couple times in years leading up to that point. We hadn't been in playoffs in 4 decades or so. Pain is still the same but just a little different, right?

Baez has a bruised heel. Won't be playing.

A great trivia question 1 day.

Abraham Toro became the 1st player to Homer for a team one night and then Homer against that team the very next night.

Abraham hit a homerun for the Astros against the Mariners and then was traded to Mariners and hit a homerun in 1st game with Seattle against the Astros

I always thought it was strange that teams would trade a player to a team they were getting ready to play.  Why not just wait until the end of the series.

What Cubs players will be playing their last game at Wrigley tomorrow as a Cubbie?

I think Kimbrell, Bryant, and Tepera will go for sure.

Maybe on Baez, Davies, and Rizzo.

On the other hand, this is the Cubs, so who knows. I wouldn't be completely shocked if a trade came for someone unexpected like Contereas etc. depending on who they can get in return...I saw one site claiming cubs were maybe trying to get Dodgers top catching prospect Ruiz....which might make Contreras suddenly available.

Reading the story about the Reds trade on the score and the comments from the Yankees fan was hysterical.  They were discussing who the PTBNL could be and they brought.up Suarez or Winker.  They are nuts to think either one of those two would be involved in this trade.
