All Time Teams for Other Big 10 Schools

Recommended Posts

Since it's the off season, and there's not a whole lot to talk about, I got bored and put together my All Time Team for each Big 10 school (save Indiana...that's been done ad nauseum). This might not draw much interest, but curious who I might have omitted or who others think should have made the list...Partially based on my own opinion, and partially based on stats (You try digging up an all time team for Northwestern!)...Enjoy...

Deon Thomas
Eddie Johnson
Deron Williams
Derek Harper

Interesting.   Fun discussion.  What about Otis Birdsong for Rutgers or Cassie Russell for Michigan?

There's an excellent case for Cazzie...I tried to remain true to Center, 2 forwards and 2 guards, and Michigan is pretty stacked there...

Birdsong played at the University of Houston...

Gotta go with Cazzie Russell and how about John Havlicek.

I tried to go more off of their college game...Hondo was pretty good in college, but Ohio State has had a lot of great college players...

And Michigan and OSU were two of the more difficult ones...

Good job!   Appreciate the older guys you included.   😊

What about Terry Dischinger?  😊

I did consider him (all Terre Haute guys get a little extra from me as well as Martinsville guys...hard for me to leave Jerry Sichting off) but the call was him or Schellhase...

We'll leave it to our resident Boilermaker...what say thee, @Stlboiler23?

Crawford was good at UM, but I don't think he would sniff the top 5 tbh. Rudy T has to be discussed.

I tried to think through the Michigan guards...Joubert, Green, Robinson, Burke, and Rose all had good careers there...Definitely one of the tougher calls...

And I did consider Tomjanovich...I just thought Tarpley had a better career...Who knows what he could have been without the addiction problems...

So many great B1G players it's almost impossible to get a consensus for sure. I'd probably have to add Veshon Lenard from Minnesota and Devin Harris from Wisconsin. Makes it tougher is today's players leave so early....I'd also favor players that won or led teams to final 4's and NCs as well giving them the nod. Probably would have Glen Rice on that Michigan squad but that is just me....25ppg and a NC....wow..don't get me wrong great players but that is pretty special player.

Scott Skiles has to be on my Sparty list. He's one of my favorite college players of all time. On a personal note...Tony Wysinger was our camp coach back in the day and he signed his autograph with Alford in it for me because all I wanted to be was Steve Alford at the time.

Fun topic and will think of others as the slow season hits.

Your Maryland team:

Maryland
Len Elmore
Len Bias
Albert King
John Lucas
Juan Dixon

I am thinking I replace Juan Dixon(I know he won a title) with Adrian Branch.

I struggled between Dixon, Branch, and Steve Francis...Tom McMillan was hard to leave off too...

Also considered Steve Blake at PG, but Lucas was just too good...
