Are You Ready For Some Fantasy Football - HSN Style

Recommended Posts

I have a draft strategy and hope it plays out.  I look over one or 2 standard sites for player rankings and positional rankings.  Im not going to do more research than a team of professionals.  On draft day have those lists ready to look at to help make quick final decisions.  Im sure some have way more complicated systems

Full Point PPR, 6 points for QB throwing TD's, and bonuses for getting over 100 yards (RB/WR) and 300 yards (QB). Anything else I'm missing?

Just starting to peak at some projections/drafts. Amazing to me how much talent is in the league. Was looking at some mocks this morning and seeing guys like Lockett, Thielen, Allen, Murray, Golladay be available in late 4th/early 5th?

On the flip side of that some of these draft guys keep running the same guys up there in 1st/2nd rounds that either A)can't stay on the field ever or B)underperform fantasy wise year in and year out.

Starting to get excited for football. Preseason football week from Thursday.

The old "I have a cough" should work better this year than most previous years.

So far so good. Haha. Our hood has an annual party that evening but with the picks being only a minute in between I'm good to sneak away for an hour or so and get it done. I tried drafting on my phone one year. Never again.

I draft my team alphabetically by position

1) Defense is first alphabetically, so I take mine in the first round.

2) Kicker

3) Quarterback

4) Running Back

5) Tight End

6) Wide Receiver

I've never won though, so I may switch it up this year.

Assuming some order of Taylor, Hopkins, Mahomes, Montgomery? PPR? 6 points for QB passing TD's?

More of general fantasy comment. One of my leagues they do draft order way in advance. Not a fan of it but oh well. Anyway I'm at the dreaded 5th spot. I think we talked on 3-4 pages ago but assuming CMac, Cook, Henry go 1-3 in most drafts....the real fun starts at 4.

I refuse to have Zeke or Barkley on my team so I wouldn't pick them. Kamara is next....and I have no clue what to do with him. Somebody is going to touch the ball in New Orleans and the division always scores tons of points....do you go Kamara at 4/5? Or at the 5th if no Kamara do you start looking at Adams/Hill?

Depending on the type of league you are in, I have seen Taylor, Kelce and Ekeler taken in the 5th spot in various mock drafts.

I'm the resident member of the Travis Kelce fan club but don't think I could take him at 5. This league is 1/2 point PPR, bonuses at 100 yards for WR/RB's....I'm also curious why Chubb is consistently listed at 10 and beyond. All he does each game when healthy is get 20 touches. Hate the 4/5 slot this year.

I had Chubb last year, and when he was healthy he did well. Of course, he missed 4 games with injuries. You also have to factor in the sharing with Hunt, who seems to get more touches inside the red zone due to his better pass catching skills.

I'll be surprised if Kamara is available at 5.  I've actually seen Henry drop to 5 in more mocks than Kamara.  But those are full ppr leagues.

I would go with the player you are most confident in.  Dont worry about if they are supposed to be drafted that high.

If you like Kelce and Chubb, pull the trigger. In the end, regardless of what happens, you will at least know it was your choice and not the choice of the masses.

Trying to map out my strategy this year. Always nice to have elite RB secured early on but there's quite a few guys who will get 17-20 touches per game after pick 25. Shoot by the time Week 1 arrives I might just end up back at Taylor at pick 5. Haha. Really struggling at pick 5 because of my personal or emotional vitriol towards Barkley/Zeke.

Amen to this. Kelce scored in one of my leagues (1/2 point ppr, 3 point bonus at 100 yards)...just behind Adams, Hill, and Diggs.
