CORRECT TO: Booker AND Evans Jr.

Yep! We all do for sure! It's just nice knowing after 22 recruiting class with elite guy and 3 good 4 stars...we've stacked another great recruiting class so far in 23 with us just narrowing the finish line.

Lots of programs are in full on scramble mode each off season. Glad we aren't one of those. You keep stacking top 100 guys on top 100 guys while peppering in the elite we'll be playing hoops in April in coming years.

Talk of a late summer commit, and I’m feeling good that it will be us. As always, this is simply a gut feeling and my trying to connect some dots.

We're hot and heavy on Kiser too. Might be a first to pull the trigger type thing.

I don't think we have room for 5, nor do I think we can take Newton, Carr, and Kiser. Jmo

See, I always thought it looked like we were looking to take 5. Race, Kopp, and X 100% gone. TJD I would guess very likely. And that adds 1 more unexpected which would be the norm to expect in the portal era.

At this point I am wondering if we take Carr if he were to commit. I think it comes down to Kaiser or Carr. Has anyone heard that Carr is the plan B?? Just putting some things together that I heard makes me wonder if Carr was told to wait and see. The next 3 weeks should be very telling.

I read where the coaches were still after TJ Power too. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out among the three.

Me too, to add to their great class. Hard to believe we are turning a top 60 kid away. I hope it all pans out in the end

I agree. But if the skill set didn't fill a need maybe we will be better off looking somewhere else. CMW seems to have a plan and we can only take so many of the same type players. Anyway, those making the decisions are way smarter than me.

This is the first time since Knight (I'm intentionally not counting Sampson) that we seem to have a coach who cares about roster management. That means that some talented players will no longer be recruited if they don't fill a need.

If I read his stats correctly, he shot:

2 for 11 three-pointers for the season, for 18%.

He shot 56% free throws.

Shot 52% from the field.  Lots of dunks.

In fairness, he's working on mechanics (shot is too flat), and is known for dunks.  He could end up being a monster player, or not.  We'll see.

A 56% FT shooter in HS? That's terrible for a wing. That tells me he'll probably never be a good shooter. I knew he wasn't a great shooter but I didn't realize he was that bad.

Don't disagree at all. I think it shows how far along we have come in a short period of time

True.  It makes perfect sense - NBA teams have to juggle so many variables in building a roster and cbb is getting more and more similar.  Contracts=NIL, Free Agency=Portal, Draft=Recruiting.

We better land Page. I still think there is a place for Carr at Indiana but the coaches felt differently and that's why they make the big bucks. If his shooting improves kid gonna cause some havoc in the BIG

Re: Carr. I saw either on this site or another that he is a 56% FT shooter. To me that seems like it is likely he'll never become a good shooter. He seems to rely on his athleticism to get dunks. While he would still be able to do that at the college level, it wouldn't be nearly as easy. My guess is that he'll be a defensive specialist in college and any points are a bonus. Probably not someone you want on the floor in the final minutes of a close game.
