Purdue's ranking was by design. The CFP committee wants OSU playing 4 consecutive ranked opponents so they don't have to include Cincy.

If Luke Fickell wants to earn his way into the CFP as an underdog I know of a GREAT OC position he should take next season!

Man Texas is going to regret moving to the SEC. They lost to Kansas at home who was a 31 point underdog, with a 56 game Big 12 road losing streak and a 8 game losing streak this season. Longhorns have a five game losing streak lol.

Texas should have stuck with Tom Herman...I heard that idiot Paul Finebaum lay this year's failure at the feet of Herman...you know, the guy who had a respectable record in Austin (32-18 in 4 years) and had brought in nice recruiting classes every year (ranked 3rd, 3rd, 8th, and 12th nationally).

It was kind of the same situation we were with Archie... Herman won, but not enough for a school with the football history of Texas...

But unlike IU, who has seemingly connected our past with our future in Coach Woodson (which so far looks like a great move) they decided to pursue the shiney object in Steve Sarkisian, who was mediocre as a head coach at both Washington and USC, but had seemingly excelled as an offensive coordinator at USC and Alabama with boatloads of 5 Star recruits...

Yesterday pretty much sealed his fate...you cannot, under any circumstances, lose to Kansas and expect to survive at UT...He's lost that team, and I expect an announcement will come soon after the end of the season...

Pretty much summarized my good friends text last night. He's an IU guy/grad but has been in Austin since late 90's and married into a Texas family. He's always saying the same thing. How in the world can the two teams I love and cheer for routinely make bad hires?? Herman was 7-3 before paying him $15M to leave.

Like you said he feels awesome with Woodson/Dolson plan. Can't figure out why it's so hard for Texas to just be good with occasional run at F4.

I honest to God couldn't believe I heard Finebaum say this meltdown was mainly at the feet of Tom Herman... unbelievable...

I do think Herman would have eventually had success at UT, but patience is not a virtue in any big time college program that's had a successful past...

Your friend didn't play football at IU did he? I ask because I went to high school with a guy who played at IU, but now calls Austin home...

No football for him. Golf....and a tech guy that saw Austin coming 25 years ago. IU is still #1 for him....but living there it just takes you over. We always talk about how programs like Texas, USC, Miami, Florida St, Nebraska, Michigan,etc....can just be lost for so long.
