Off-Season

First game announced for next season. Will be a Friday night home game vs Illini to kickoff next year. I know the high school football crowd has their issues...and I understand.

I also know for holiday weekends a Friday night game does two things. Allow those to go to game and still have rest of Labor Day to do whatever.....or for some of us start thinking about making reservations at Four Winds for the weekend. Game on Friday. Lake Monroe all day Saturday....sounds pretty good to me!

The 2 Friday night games this past year looked like they started at 8 and 9pm EST. Maybe you could still make second half?

Well, in the least arrogant way possible, I hope we running clock the team we play, and we should. Its the weakest team on our schedule, and its at home.

Not sure if youre familiar with the rules for HSFB now, but once youre up 35, the clock is automatically running once you reach the 2nd half.

Yep. As it should be. We grew up on 40 in Illinois. Never understood why it isn't a nationwide thing. No need to humiliate another team and prevents potential for injuries.

Just makes everything easier. They also went to "six quarters" a week you can play. There are some stipulations that go along with that, but yeah. Way easier with those two rules.

Why do I get the feeling Kaiden Turner could possibly turn into a Micah McFadden type of player? Tough guys with a nose for the ball just seem to perform.  McFadden had a ridiculous closing burst, and obviously proved himself to have been way underrated as a recruit. Not sure how Turner will transition to the B1G, but I like his potential.  Here's to hoping CTA found another linebacker gem.

I think the Jones kid is more of a McFadden. Just an opinion

No. If you check the whole roster out, we have tons of duplicate #s. Everyone does.

Those two players just aren't allowed to be on the field at the same time.

I know you can have two one on defense and one on offense.  I saw two new guys with 0 so I wouldn't think you could have a third.
