  1. I'm a central Indiana HS coach...will say this...Phinisee is absolutely solid. My personal opinion, will contribute right away, both in practice and on the floor. Chris Reynolds type player, more scoring ability, even at 5'11. Can dunk it however you want...may not be superstar immediately, but will flourish with those already here and coming in.

  2. He'll have to learn to dribble left handed before we see much of it. Athletic though, for sure.

  4. It seems very unproven but everyone starts somewhere. They could not afford to make a “reach” offer after they way they bungled things. Leach, or someone like him, would have been a gamble and heads would have rolled if the production was not there. At least they can say he came from a strong background. I think you are right about the conferences and at large, and yes there will always be complaining. But four is just too restrictive and you have to let a team like UCF have their shot. If they lay an egg, fine, but they deserve a chance. As for Alabama, I will say that I think they

  6. I tend to believe victims of sexual assault until proven otherwise. I'm sure there are times that is wrong, but it encourages others to come forward whereas assuming something is wrong until proven otherwise, with something that is SO hard to come forward with, discourages people from coming forward. That mindset has caused major problems in our country and people speaking up and being believed is finally changing that. Please stop siding with the accused until you have a reason to do so.

  10. I am in the BGleas camp on this. I like Curtis' speed and ability as a shooter. He needs a better fit. If he goes to a school that will allow him freedom to get some jumpers off, i think he can score. I think schools of the ilk BGleas listed would be appropriate. You could probably throw in some SEC schools too. He lacks ability to drive or initiate offense. He is not a strong defender. He can get himself open and shoot, and there is a value to that. But, as I often say, I don't trust recruiting rankers' ability to project some of these guys. They probably saw a fluid guy who c

  11. Again, what talent? I understand he was a good shooter in high school, and maybe he can get his shot worked out. But he has a terrible handle, he’s not super athletic, and he can’t play defense. He plays incredibly soft. I don’t see any of that changing no matter where he goes. If he was really talented, he would have been able to get minutes in our struggling backcourt this season. Instead, a 3 star freshman thoroughly outplayed him and he transferred. I think he was overrated as a recruit because he went to Huntington Prep.

  12. Hmm. Still think you're undervaluing him. All we've seen of him is his frosh season. Apply this same reasoning to Collin after his frosh season (when many actually wanted him to transfer). What he demonstrated in AAU ball/HS coming in fully justified his top 50 ranking, kid can score the ball, he's just not ready yet, this is about development, not ability. Agree he isn't seeing the floor time, and like many in that situation he's transferring because of that. You don't have that game he had against KU without serious talent. You don't excel like he did at the AAU level without serious talent.

  13. AGREED! In addition, it's always some team like Purdue, Duke or Kentucky that I'd rather not have to watch. As I'm in the central time zone, I personally don't mind later starts. Gives me time to finish up with work and kids stuff. A 9pm EST is 8pm for and works perfectly. I wouldn't want to be the players coming home after a late road game however...

  14. I wish I didn't read that article. For adult educators to cover up/not investigate accusations of that magnitude after multiple witnesses told their parents about it, is absolutely disgusting. Whether it's true or not, I'd pull my kid out of that school in a heartbeat....solely based on the school's response and lack of urgency. One has to wonder in this world of haves and have nots (and the haves thinking they're above the law) if the administration was fearing repercussions from the attackers' parents. I mean, with a tuition of $25k is it not fair to speculate that some of these parents wil

  15. I was a multi sport varsity athlete in high school and while bullying and hazing were all over the place in the locker room, sexual assault was no were to be seen. Maybe times are different (I graduated hs in 2001) but actions described in that article are not at all what I consider bullying....that's a homosexual raping a non consenting teammate. If this is what "bullying" has evolved to I'm glad as hell I'm not a kid today.

  17. Phinisee is ranked a lot higher than Al Durham and Al is playing a lot better than a lot of Freshmen guards. While Yogi was overall a better player, Al looks a lot better with valuing the ball as a freshman than I remember Yogi being. Phinisee may surprise us all and I think it's premature to say IU will be in trouble next year at the guard spot. Who knows what jumps we'll see under this coach.

  19. Well said. According to one article, the accusers want a jury trial. I can't even imagine the pain, suffering, and trauma this kid (and the family) has gone through and WILL go through the rest of his life. Their lives have been destroyed.

  20. There's always 2 sides of the story, and the truth is almost always somewhere in the middle. Even if not all, but some of those graphic details of the accusation really happened, that alone constitutes a serious crime. It just really hard to believe everything that the accuser said was not true.

  24. It's hard to form an opinion on whatever Garland did because we really don't know what he did, but I can't imagine it was small given the school's willingness to suspend their star player. It does seem to speak to his character, getting suspended during his senior year. Surely by the 4th year, you ought to have a pretty good grasp of what the school expects of you. I thought more of Darius than that but maybe I gave him too much credit. Maybe being turned down ends up being a good thing after all...

  26. Garland had been suspended for a locker room incident. Between that and the crappy way his family treated the IU media is it possible we dodged a bullet?

Mod's I understand there are probably guidelines against posting stuff like this, so feel free to delete if you need to, but would be great if you could let me know so I can then PM it to KoB. Thanks! I run a start-up health/wellness company with two others, though we're hoping to grow in 2018. It's been a long journey, filled with up's and downs, and I've learned a ton, mainly that trying to build a company from scratch is not for the faint of heart. But, we'll be 5 years old in April which is a huge milestone! Anyways our company is Previnex (www.previnex.com) a
