  1. Romeo Langford signs autographs for hours after each road game. RL has not one single time retaliated when he has been roughed up on the court, not once. After Bell's game winner Saturday, WC fans rushed the court and one of them (almost guaranteed a HS kid) shoved RL in the back as he was walking away, Romeo didn't even acknowledge them.. he just kept walking. He signed autographs in Seymour AGAIN this past Saturday even after his team got beat. He stayed at NA when there were tons telling him to go Prep because he so badly wanted to play at NA and win another state title. He and his parents

  5. For the life of me I cannot understand any kid committing early. With scandals and coaching changes such a big part of college basketball today, I'd want my kid to know who he was going to play for, and that he'd have a shot at playing in the post season. Also, the recruiting process is stressful enough, that I doubt I'd want to do it twice. Waiting as long as possible before committing seems prudent to me.

  6. De’Ron and Juwan have. Not so sure about Green. And no that doesn’t mean he’s transferring and he may very well be with those other 2 I just haven’t heard that.

  7. Expanding on what 0708 just said...... I feel very confident in saying that Romeo's decision, whatever it eventually may come down to will be based primarily on the coach. Rather than attempted influences by a player/recruit. And how that coach handles his players in game situations. Also they type of offense that coach runs, will have a greater influence on Romeo than any player/recruit. As Romeo said.... when you get to college .... all the players are good. Read into that, as I have, and it tells me, Romeo is looking much harder at coaching than the players he may eventually wind up pla

  8. Holding the team hostage? Nobody has to wait for the kid, they can move on. The fact he has waited so long, may be why we get him. The langfords have done everything they said they were going to do. Maybe you are annoyed with the current player climate, but romeo didn't make things this way. He was U of L bound and had to reset his plans due to a prostitution ring lol. Then he wanted to see how 2 almost brand new coaches handled their seasons while focusing on his team's season. I love that the kid did all these things, shows that he is patient and smart.

  9. Oh yeah. I was home. My neighbor, a Dookie, had, with a big smile, had, with great ego, laughingly bet that if IU won he'd hit the bars wearing an IU cheerleader uni. The next night, at the bars, was a lot of fun.

  10. Also, this board is special. Appreciate hearing from you and with civility. Read other boards and the sophomoric ad hominem is silly. Thanks folks, for making HSN a great place to share being a fan with others who love the same team.

  11. I suppose his timing and waiting it out does suck a bit FOR US, but what a great problem to have. It could be worse! He could be committed somewhere else right now. We've already talked about all the why's..with everything that is swirling around Bball right now, why wouldn't they wait for the clearest possible picture. I bet there's a few others that wish they waited as well this year. I think this has been fun and has brought us closer, not like group-hug-in-the-shower closer, just more acquainted i suppose. And, what else would we talk about instead? -The next dumb thin

  12. Maybe it was 100 pages ago in this thread but I'll just say this again. So often we criticize players/families/kids for making quick, snap decisions only to back out of that decision and go elsewhere (insert Trey Lyles). Langford's have stuck with their process and time line. While it pains me to no end...the end is coming. Getting another visit has to be viewed as a good thing. How about this? We make Romeo honorary starter for Little 5 race on April 21st? Talk about a visit....haha.

  15. I was at IU and breezed through an Econ test because the teach refused to postpone it for the game and ended up failing the test. I ran home and we were down double digits, then was the only of my friends that watched through as they came back. Immediately after we won, I ran to Kirkwood to go nuts...I miss IU. Quick Addition: When we won, I immediately got up and started running around ultimately running through the screen door on a deck and with force making fly down three stories at Terra Trace.

  20. Do you go by another handle on another board? If not, then I'm not sure you do know; not that it matters. That said, I believe in quality, not quantity when it comes to posting. Especially when it pertains to recruiting information. I'm not going to reveal the source because I don't want to jeopardize my good standing and don't want to betray a trust. I will say this though, the source based it upon DIRECT information from people extremely close to RL. McHoop

  21. I thought this was a discussion on school shootings and what could be done to prevent more? Obviously, guns have a role in the discussion, but lets not forget about the FBI, school administrators, the "jail to school pipeline" , lack of police response / preparedness that made Parkland a much worse trajedy. Why is no one concerned about anything other than guns? I continue to bring up the MD HS shooting and TX church shootings as examples where guns saved lives. Just seems to fall on deaf ears. There was talk of the students rallying on their own. I'm sorry, but that couldn't

  22. Tim Langford will be a guest on 1450 AM sports radio with Jim Coyle tomorrow morning. The show runs from 6 - 8am and I would expect Tim’s spot somewhere around 7am. Link to live stream below. If I can remember, I’ll post a link to the recorded version later tomorrow afternoon. https://radio.securenetsystems.net/cwa/?stationCallSign=WQKC

  25. Today is the anniversary of this classic game. I wasn't quite old enough to remember the 1981 title game, so this game for me was when IU basketball went from an interest to a passion. We take a look at the teams, the game, and of course the legend of Dan Dakich vs. MJ. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/this-date-in-hoosier-history-indiana-takes-down-no-1-north-carolina/

The game started early for me (I think around 6:30 PT) so I went and watched with co-workers after work. Let's just say that saw a different side of me that night!!! https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/revisiting-indianas-last-win-over-no-1-duke/

  28. Two things: First, the Vandy poster's claims comparing IU to them shows that in many ways they have a comparable resume to us. They are smart to compare the last ten years because this was the worst stretch in IU basketball history. Gun to the head, who do you think they would pick in a "thingy" measuring contest over the next ten years, IU or Vandy? Second, in terms of the concerns from a couple pages back about kids wanting attention in this day and age, I just say that when I was in school, there was no Twitter, FB, or a 168 page thread followed by many post college men and women who are

The United States of America is SUPPOSED to be a DEMOCRACY !! That crap of telling a high school grad he HAS TO GO TO COLLEGE IS A FLIPPING DICTATORSHIP ! Let us get back to letting FREEDOM OF CHOICE RING SUPREME and STOP all of this DICTATORSHIP CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Echoing off my friend here: If people can talk dispassionately, in an almost academic sense, about their view on what is happening in this country -- that's great and worthy of all of our time! If it becomes "I'm right because I believe X, you're wrong because you believe Y," that's a bit tougher to defend.

  38. In this Animal House forum we're trying to open it up a bit more to discussion that gets close to the line, but we are going to draw the line when we believe it's being crossed. It is, admittedly, a difficult line to draw. This isn't a political forum, but talking about how the electorate may be shifting, without getting into partisan discussion and peoples' own political views, or taking sides, sounds ok on its own.

  39. Your check is in the mail. LOL One point I would like to take issue is the splash on ESPN. If the Langford's wanted to make a splash on ESPN, there would be no greater time and stage than at McDonald's in Atlanta. Initially there was speculation that would happen. However, since then Tim Langford has specifically set out an announcement time after the McDonald's game. And has said the announcement will come in New Albany, perhaps at the school. And that the Mayor was invited. However, unless that has changed, after Tim's statement, I got word that the Mayor had not heard from Tim.

  40. I expect you'll get roasted by all the posters who have a man crush on Romeo. I think you're right that the reason he's drawn this out is because he loves the attention. But I don't know that that necessarily means he's a me-first guy in the team context. One of the things I really like about his game is his ability to hit the open man when double-teamed, and another is that he doesn't take a lot of bad shots. To me, that doesn't say he's a me-first guy. Just my opinion, and I haven't seen him a ton.

I read somewhere in an article about the UL coaching search that "Louisville still doesn't know what to expect from a possible NCAA infractions process related to the FBI investigation into college basketball recruiting, which puts the university in an awkward position as it's on probation through 2021. Conclusions in the wide-ranging case may be years off — the FBI asked the NCAA not to conduct interviews in the case until after the three trials related to it are over, and the last one is set to begin in April 2019." That being said, I think teams like Pitt would take a flyer on Sean Mil

  44. There are clearly cultural and philosophical differences regarding this subject. The main reasons for individual ownership of firearms are self defense and preventing the state from having a monopoly on force. With all freedoms comes risk. That is the price of a free society. I for one was never taught willingness to shoot somebody is a condition of ownership. I never heard that anywhere til now. Depends on who is interpreting the data/statistics and what their motivations are. One can look up statistics from govt sources that show rifles of all kinds, with AR15's being i

  46. Heard Jeff Rabjohns say on Kent Sterling that he talked to Tim Langford after the NA loss... says that they are still planning on visiting IU, finishing up the all-star games, and then announcing in Mid/Late April. Also mentioned it would be a big surprise for Louisville to be added back on Romeo's list even if Chris Mack took it because Mack and the Langford's have no prior relationship at all.

  47. Looks like I read your post beyond what you meant to express. I very much agree, on what I know, that there are not enough we’ll qualified or accomplished teachers in math and science - but would say that’salso true across the board, and yes, an education system overhaul is long overdue. Putting resources - money and prestige - into teaching would help. I don’t understand why we, as a country, do not place teaching among the “lawyers and doctors” and engineers in prestige, and pay. Make teaching an economically attractive profession, make it an encouragers, lauded profession, get our brightest
