I got my Rangers 20 package to see the new stadium. The team, meh.   Unfortunately, it's year late and my opening day tickets won't be the first MLB game ever since they played playoff games there. So

Conversation overheard at the grocery this morning. Young Boy:  "Dad, which baseball team has lost more games this year, the Reds or the Cardinals?" Father:  "The Cardinals have lost more."

Congrats on the graduation part. Always nice to see stepping stones crossed. Just saw the score. Reminded me of my first Cubs game in 79 vs Phillies. Tons of homers. Here's a fun stat. Cubs have 28 st

Reds down 6-0 in the bottom not the 5th.  Arizona's pitcher had a perfect game through 5

Not worried yet.  If you had told me before the season the Reds would be 6-3 to start the year, I would have been thrilled.  Bottom line is if we started 0-3 and then won 6 straight, we would be in the same place.  it may 'feel' better that way, but it's still 6-3.

American League East has been really strange so far.  Red Sox sit on top of the division at 6-3, after starting the season 0-3 (and looking bad in doing so).  The other four teams are all 4-5.

Honestly I just plain get concerned when the Reds make a left coast trip.  Seems like they always struggle out west no matter how good they are.

It's the curse of Wally Moon...and baseball being played in the LA Coliseum.   😜

If you check Wally's stats, he was a decent ballplayer.  I made up the curse thing because his name just feels right for a baseball curse.  And one of my memories from that time (1960-61) was hearing Waite Hoyt, Reds radio announcer, talking about how Wally was pretty good at lifting fly balls over the 42' screen out in leftfield, which was only 251' down the line and 320' to leftcenter.

Pedro Strop returns to Wrigleyville.

By the end of the year to keep payroll in check I'm expecting the Cubs to bring back Carlos Zambrano, Mark Prior....shoot maybe see if Keith Moreland has any tread on the tire left. Although Moreland probably today could make better contact than 90% of our hitters.

Could he still hit 300?  A couple dozen donuts could help him get there.  :coffee:

Or how about Tuffy Rhodes?

13 career HRs...3 of them on Opening Day 1994 against cokehead Doc Gooden and the hated Mets...

Harry had him in Cooperstown after that opening day!
