I disagree. This was a loss where we see our lack of overall talent, guard depth and athleticism be exposed.

Our guys play hard, but are limited. Our floor and our ceiling were never far a part with this group.

I don't think effort was the issue. I appreciate and respect this team. We just need to upgrade our talent and athleticism moving forward.

I’m honestly not sure how you could watch that game and not point to the effort. The amount of times we didn’t even attempt to get rebounding position or didn’t release to the ball was just sad. At least 3 of 4 times we were complacent with grabbing a rebound and it ended up being a 2nd chance 3. Miami crushed us on 2nd chance points, and I don’t think that they were a great rebounding team.

As much as I harp on the refs, if they don't call that late foul on Race that resulted in his free throw and TJD putback, I don't think we win. That is too narrow of a margin

Based on the Minnesota player's reaction, I expected the replay to show a pretty clean play. It was not...he got a large chunk of his forearm and wrist before making any contact with the ball. Very clearly a foul that is going to be called basically every single time.

Only took about 2-5 comments to show my self out the door. Some of you guys man. Did we get beat? Yes. Badly? Yes..but man it's December. Hopefully Xavier injury isn't season ending. Otherwise catch up later kids.

It’s almost as if you had this written up before you read any responses. I don’t see a single over-the-top post.

If you're buying season tickets with the intent on reselling them for profit, you deserve to get them revoked. As an alumnus who tries to go to both BB and FB games at least once a year, it's tiresome to have to spend $200 for BB tix and $100+ for FB. It used to be season ticket holders would sell them at a reasonable price on IU forums or what have you, now like any ticket purchase, you end up spending double face plus fees. There's no way to stop this, but if that is the intent of a season ticket holder, that's just lame.

It's barely worth your time to resell IU tickets to most games.

I originally bought season tickets to accrue points, which an IU employee sold me on doing. I live in Chicago and don't have a car and can't go to most games. The first year, I sold the tickets to make some of my money back (definitely did not come close to turning a profit).

Now I have tickets with my uncle and just give them to him when I can't go, and I honestly don't care because you make so little money selling the tickets.

Kind of seems like a beggars can't be choosers situation to me. You should be happy anyone is willing to buy them to watch this awful product.

IU doesn't have to pay him $25 million the second he gets fired.

It doesn't really matter if they have the money or not. Ball State fired its men's basketball coach earlier this year, just 8 months after giving him an extension, and that school is dirt poor. If you have a failing coach who's done nothing but indicate he's going to continue to fail, you just find a way to cut the cord and worry about the cost of doing so later.

Not to be overly argumentative here but I just looked it up and it was a 2 year extension with a salary of less than 400k per year. Maybe there are other inclusions in that contract that would make it higher but either way, it’s not the same universe in terms of a payout.

At some point, the amount of money matters.

No, it doesn't. It's just money.

Easy to say when it’s not your money. First you have to find the boosters with the cash and second you have to convince them there will be a return on their investment with improved results. IU is not exactly a destination for coaches that would give you faith in #2.

Well, there's no way to know that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I feel like there are very few things in life you can know without a shadow of a doubt. But I feel very confident there aren’t IU boosters that care about football enough to pony up 25.5 million to buy out Allen after this year. His contract was a byproduct of irrational exuberance and puts us in a terrible position short term.

Prolonging the inevitable? I enjoyed the win. But Allen's not the guy and the contract extension was overzealous.

I don’t disagree with either of those assertions. But it’s not yesterday’s win that’s prolonging anything. It’s his contract.

Ambivalent reaction. Exciting and fun win. Great perseverance. At the same time, lot of luck. If it saves Allen's job, not sure I'm so hyped about the victory in the big picture.

I don’t really understand this comment. Allen’s job is not on the line, at least not this year. The contract situation trumps performance issues for the foreseeable future.

    Let’s just enjoy the win.

You have no clue what you’re talking about and that’s fine. Like I’ve said believe what you want.

Do you have anything to validate this? Deland's own words, logic and common sense would all point to you being the one who has no clue what you're talking about.
