I tend to agree. It would be one thing if we didn't need this player, but the past few seasons have told us we probably will at some point.

I can't imagine he was expecting big minutes when he came, but I have zero knowledge of why he left.

I agree otherwise we could have just rolled with Sparks again. They seem like similar types of players. Decent offense and rebounding, not athletic, not good FT shooters. I'd rather just have an all defensive type guy. But I also don't know who's interested.

So now we're nitpicking how the staff gets to visits?

Some guys have the arm talent that is hard to ignore. He had that in spades. When he and Fields went at it, he had the more natural arm.

According to a poster on the other board, Walker visit has been canceled.

But this exactly when you should use it on the portal one year guy from a lower level program. Someone with some experience, they didn't have to be great, but at least seasoned. Easier said than done maybe, but you have X and Cupps as PGs. That's a bit risky imho.

That's pretty much the main thing I have said about Woody this entire season. And not playing more small ball at times. But that was the catch 22. He didn't have the guard talent/depth to do it.

But they did know X was coming off a season where he missed significant time. And had missed a lot of time the season before. It was pretty dumb not to have another PG or at least another Combo guard.

Of all the flak Woody took this year, the most deserved was not using that scholarship. X hadn't been healthy or played much, so it was silly not to bring in another experienced guard.

I would say they were a consensus top "teen" or 20. I don't think top 10. That would have been a stretch. And I would agree. Basketball is always about guard play and we haven't had a lot of those the past few seasons.

Where are they flying? I have only seen a couple of vague insinuations. He played 20 mins a game for IL. Will likely get more minutes next year. Trying to figure out why he would come to IU unless he's really unhappy.

Me too. He took 51 shots, 42 were threes, made 15 so 35.7%. Works for me with a much higher volume. I don't care what position the threes come from, just take and make more.

Yet someone questioned my suggestion (not here I don't think) that Calipari is a mediocre coach. The talent he was bringing in year-in-year-out at UK I could probably do as well as he did.
