One of the more entertaining parts of this season has been watching Gregg Doyell turn into a huge Purdue fan and noticing he can’t even cover them without mentioning IU constantly.

Doyal is an antagonist not a journalist. He’s trolling IU fans with his Purdue fandom and it’s all for clicks. The only way he gets clicks is by mentioning IU in the same breath as Purdue.

I don't know how any of you could hope these dorks win tonight.  Littlest of little bro syndrome.

Having numerous family and friends who graduated from there, I actually did want Purdue to win…for them, so they could actually experience it in their lifetime….until I saw that twitter post, then it was back to eat sh*t Purdouche.

Gotta tip your cap to UConn.  They’re damn talented and were the better team. Hell of a season for my Boilers and it’s nice to get the tournament monkey off our back. Would’ve been nice to win but a hell of a run.

Purdue fans chanting “IU Sucks” at their own national championship game watch personifies this program. Even Doyal, who’s basically a Purdue booster at this point, couldn’t help but make today’s column about IU. Back to mediocrity with Purdue until Painter can pull another random rabbit out of his hat, if ever.

Edey looks great so far on both ends. Let's see how long he can maintain this pace. Eventually he has to sit. I think Uconn knows he can't keep up the pace.

He’s not going to be able to squat in the paint all game like he normally does. If Painter runs him for 40 minutes he’ll regret it

I’m coming around to the idea of Malik being the main presence in the paint.

From what I saw this year, he doesn’t yet have what it takes to guard/out rebound the 5 nor be trusted to stay on the court when overmatched. He has a ton of work to do in the offseason otherwise he’ll get killed every time we face a top tier center. Mbacko needs to make tremendous strides in this category himself.

Dusty May more like Dusty Won't, amirite? :coffee:

Dude laid an egg today. NW did everything possible to gift them a win and his team was far too unorganized and unprepared to seize the opportunity. Outside of Goldin they were absolutely terrible

Looked at his stats. He takes 6-15 shots per game. In the last 10 games he’s attempted a total of four rwos

For every great game he has 5 bad games and he’s an absolute liability on defense. I’d certainly take him but he’s hardly worth drooling over

It’s absolutely wild watching every other team, including NBA games, then watching big ten officials in Purdue games. It might as well just be a different rule book.

Purdue fans need not look any further then this game to understand why they never win in the NCAA tournament. It’s not 8 on 5 anymore. Wisconsin thwarted an absolute mugging. Gard probably gets fined for going off script

So why rely on them for mins? Play Leal, fill the scholly. Simple. Tamar's team went 8-24 this season and went 0-19 in SEC games.

But, I didn't have the issue with Tamar that many of our fans did.

My comment was nothing to do with Leal. I’ve been wondering for two years why he doesn’t get minutes.
As for Tamar, his team is really bad defensively and their PG (Honor) takes way too many shots without facilitating. He’s also playing out of position at small forward.

My main point is, guys like Gunn can still develop into a solid upperclassman contributor. To write him off as a mid major player at this stage in his career is perhaps premature.

Because there’s no such thing as over the back lol.

You’re not allowed to drape your arms over the shoulders, while making contact with the opponent infront of you.  It’s a foul 100% of the time on everyone else, even if it’s not technically referred to as “over the back” in the rule book.

Gunn and Banks are mid to low major players. They're not good enough to play at this level...and I suspect they will be on a different team next year. Simple as that.

People were making similar comments about Tamar Bates last year and all he did was go to Mizzou and average 14pts while shooting 50% from the floor, 39% from beyond the arc. Not to mention, 93% from the line. Not everyone is going to round into form as an underclassmen

Assume MK is MR since Kopp didn't see any minutes tonight 😉

Definitely not their best games, both had some bonehead fouls. But they combined for 13 boards and we're 7-8 from the line.

Lol. Typo. I mean when your opponent shoots 16-58, you expect your 6’8 guys to get rebounds. Not sure I’d “credit” them for that. Neither passed the ball well, too many turnovers, fouls (as you pointed out) but most of all…terrible shot selection. We lost a ton of momentum and the ability to really stretch the lead when they started jacking up wild shots. Their defense was also…lacking, to say the least

Cmw just said some nice things about AL.   BUT the play he called was for XJ to shoot!!    WTF     Wasting your chance to use Ware.   I can’t believe that was his first choice.

What he meant was XJ was the secondary option if he couldn’t get the ball to Ware or MK. If the defense collapsed off XJ, he’s to get to the basket, the rest hit the boards.
