  1. Yea, he literally offered the top overall 2026 prospect, day one. Cig not recruiting 4/5 star guys was not what he said, and was never a thing. He was simply taking a shot at the recruiting analysts and stating that he knows how to evaluate talent more than they do
  2. It’s a completely different level of talent on the field and competitive environment. The AAA baseball analogy ephaul made is absolutely ridiculous. The literal point of the MLB farm system is to create a developmental system for players who aren’t ready for the big leagues. JMU and Elon are/were very successful “AAA level programs”. Saying you’d take JMU’s team over IU is the same as saying you’d take the Buffalo Bisons roster over the Chicago White Sox. Sure the Bisons could win 1-2 out of 10 if they’re lucky but what’s good enough to win at their level doesn’t scratch the surface at the next. No one is saying Cignetti isn’t a good coach. That said, coming in hot and saying IU will be playing in the conference championship game next season, not honoring scholarship offers (allegedly), saying Michigan and OSU sucks is crazy. Claiming he has a blueprint for success/building programs that he sets himself and pushes down to his staff is arrogant boarding on negligence. The guy simply doesn’t have the resume to back that up. I sincerely hope he’s successful here and with the right attitude, staff and recruiting success he can be. That said, if I had to guess, Harbaugh, Day and Franklin are chuckling at his naivety, not shaking in their boots.
  3. If you think JMU could compete in the BigTen you’re incredibly naive. In 20 years that program has 2 power 5 wins and one of them is this year’s 3-8 Virginia team by a field goal. This is a completely different landscape than Elon and JMU.
  4. Hard to believe all these CTA kids have already been properly evaluated already. Cig is starting to come off as an arrogant blow hard who’s plan is to tear this program down to the ground because nothing and no one can build a program like he can. This isn’t Elon and he didn’t build anything at JMU, he inherited it. I get how some are attracted to his no nonsense, cocky approach but he isn’t Saban and this aint Alabama. Hopefully, I’m reading the situation wrong but losing half the team and recruits while offering a bunch of JMU guys was not the start I was hoping for
  5. Any conference road win is a huge win. The potential is absolutely there for this team. Hopefully things continue to click and we get X back soon
  6. Just bad coaching on Woody’s part. When guys show him they don’t have it on a given night, it’s on him to believe them. Gallaway had no business receiving an inbound when you have Mbako
  7. Cupps get called everytime he breaths on someone yet Malik gets draped over and nothin….also IU ball
  8. Cupps is being thrown to the wolves and Gallaway has himself to blame.
  9. Yikes man. We need X back soooo bad. Our guards and wings not named Cupps absolute nightmare fuel handling the ball.
  10. They can lobby all they want. It’s not going to happen. Alabama would need both Michigan and FSU to lose. If you remove Georgia (not likely, no #1 seed losing in the conference championship has ever dropped out of the playoff) then it will be Texas. Alabama really has no path
  11. Harbaugh played in the NFL and coached at Stanford which was a mediocre program at the time he took over. Not even a close comparison. Meyer spent 4 years at Notre Dame as WR coach and he’s a large part of the reason Utah graduated from mid major to Pac-12, so arguably he’s not one of the few but sure be can be one I guess.
  12. Pretty decent when you consider he and Hayden Frye are the only two guys in modern football history to have a winning record leading that program. North Texas is to football as IUPUI or whatever they call themselves now is to basketball. They’re an FCS school masquerading as a mid major surrounded by the biggest powerhouses in all of college football.
  13. In no particular order: No Brainers: Alex Atkins; Garrett Riley; Sherrone Moore; Tom Herman; Brian Hartline; Seth Littrell Risky but Frisky: Ryan Grubb, ARE, D Mac, Frye, Hart; Jamey Chadwell; Josh Henson The list of power 5 coordinators to graduate to success as HC is like 50 to 1 vs guys who coached almost exclusively at the mid major level.
  14. I don’t understand the excitement around Cignetti. His presessor at JMU was arguably more successful there and is now 24-34 at East Carolina JMU under Cignetti has only one win over power 5 conference teams (a 1pt win over Virginia this year). He hasn’t coached at this level since he was Alabama’s WR coach 14 years ago. He’s also in his 60s. His success at JMU has zero translation to success in the BigTen. To assume otherwise is a massive gamble.
  15. The comments against ARE are absolutely wild. This program didn’t deserve him as a player and damn sure doesn’t deserve him now. Anyone who’s had so much as a conversation with that guy knows everything he touches turns to gold. At this point in life, he’s “Prime” without the ego, while exuding the knowledge, wherewithal and charm to win over anyone he wants. If you let him build it, they will come.
  16. My guess would be Cupps with the start, Galloway will have to play extra minutes, when Gunn comes in to spell Cupps, Gallo turns to PG. Gallo will play a ton of minutes
  17. All of them until Woody pulls his own head out of his ass and sits him on the bench
  18. Special Teams have been horrifically bad this year.
  19. The thing that stands out to me is no public intoxication/underage drinking and even DIW charge. This isn’t “sober kid” behavior and if he wasn’t drinking, appears problematic.
  20. This is fairly common. The bench players are fighting for playing time, starters are bored practicing and ready for the season to start.
  21. I think Jackson is the future (higher ceiling) at the position but Sorsby (higher floor) gives us a greater chance to win today.
  22. How many overthrows does it take to make some form of adjustment for Jackson?
  23. Jackson isn’t ready for this stage. Is Dex coming back this season? If not, we don’t win another game this season
  24. Hard to defend Bell at this point. If you don’t trust Jackson to throw the ball on 3rd and 10, put Sorsby in. Calling a play that hasn’t once produced solid yardage is kind of the definition of insanity
  25. I don’t mind him as much as I hate the bias ESPN is showing. It’s ridiculous
