  1. "Instead, you see idiots on Twitter (thankfully they’re in the minority) asking why Fears was out so late and not safely at home." I think that's a valid question, frankly. Didn't this happen at like 4 a.m.?
  2. Sounds like the kiss of death, doesn't it? At this point, Patrick Ewing looks like a better coach.
  3. ""To my understanding, it was some kind of random act. Someone just came in. My son told me he was in all black with a ski mask on, and just started firing," Fears Sr. said." Uh huh...I'm sure it's common for "random acts" like that to happen. If I'm Izzo, I'm telling Jeremy to find somewhere else to hang out/someone else to hang out with in the future. Random acts like that don't happen in my neighborhood.
  4. Wouldn't bother me at all if early exits reverted to the exception rather than the norm. College and pro ball would both be better.
  5. Was not impressed with what I saw. Memphis' record thus far is fools gold. They still don't have a coach.
  6. Could be random, but more likely needs new friends and/or new places to hang out.
  7. I'd agree. That New Mexico/Nevada gig appears to be just about perfect for Steve's level of recruiting and coaching ability. When he has to compete in the Big Ten or at UCLA, any weakness is likely to get exposed. I don't think he's terrible or elite, which means the Nevada gig is probably perfect for him. That being said, I'd be surprised if he didn't take another swing at the big leagues.
  8. Right now, I'd tell you Steve doesn't have the resume to get the IU job. Thus far, every high major job he's taken has been a failure. I wish him the best, but there's a reason he's been called Stevie Mediocre. He's doing a good job at the mid major level, but thus far, it's never translated when the lights got bright.
  9. Four seniors among their starters. Experience won't be an issue like it is for IU.
  10. Yeah, I disagree too. He talks too fast and doesn't enunciate. Maybe he's just nervous, but it's OK not to like an alum in a job. None of us like Dan Dakich.
  11. I don't know that I completely agree with all of this, but you make some fair points and at least most of it is hard to argue with.
  12. I think there's a lot of talent in the front court. It's admittedly thinner at the guard position, but I don't think it's as bad as IU has played. One guard out temporarily and one for the season certainly has not helped. ...but yes, I think it's fair to say that IU should be better given the talent on the roster.
  13. Yeah, more like several red flags became more obvious. I keep telling myself it's a very young team, but with as much talent as IU has, it's still hard not to be frustrated with how badly they've underperformed what they are capable of.
  14. As of today, IU has zero business in the tournament. Not sure when the lightbulb comes on for some of these guys, but you can't play down to the level of your competition and they consistently do that. They almost got burned by Morehead State at home, for Christ's sake. I wish I didn't care at all, but with each crappy performance, I care a little less.
  15. I said no and no. I want to be wrong and I suspect Woody will get them better. I guess I'm just frustrated with how IU fades when the heat gets turned up. They absolutely have the talent for yes and yes, but right now, they have a LOT to prove.
  16. Would be hilarious if UL somehow managed to beat UK after the dumpster fire season they are having. Patrick Ewing..."I am the all-time worst college basketball coach!" Kenny Payne..."Hold my beer!"
  17. I don't think nearly enough emphasis is put on the fact that IU is starting 2 freshmen and two sophomores. Pretty impressive that such a young group has lost only one game thus far and is 2-0 in the Big Ten.
  18. That's hilarious and while I think he's pretty fundamentally sound, I think it's a tough debate to deny that his height is a much larger factor in his overall effectiveness than it is for almost all other players.
  19. Agree. Literally had Ware jumping out of the galaxy by the end. Hilarious stuff.
  20. I get that there are more athletic players out there...I'm just thinking about the open scholarship this year. I'd absolutely offer an Indiana shooter before leaving a scholarship unused.
