  1. Like Devin Dumes on steroids. I'd sit his ass for this game anyway.
  2. He said WHAT about Turdue?!!! From the box score, it appears they are nearly as mentally soft as IU.
  3. Quoting myself from the pregame thread: "If they win, I'll watch tomorrow night. Otherwise, I have better things to do than watch half-assed effort just because you're too mentally soft to play on the road." At least I got in a nice nap while the team was laying another road turd. A mentally soft team turns it over 18 times, is 4-15 at the line and has a 6th-year senior ejected for acting like a bush league idiot instead of leading. As is too often the case at IU, 100% of the team's problems is between the ears. They'll look great at home and then fall apart against mediocre teams on the road. SMH...
  4. That was different. Those kids played their hearts out every game. I watched all the 6-25 season too.
  5. If they win, I'll watch tomorrow night. Otherwise, I have better things to do than watch half-assed effort just because you're too mentally soft to play on the road. Now that I have that out of my system, Go Hoosiers...beat NUTgers!
  6. Penny is such an idiot...and no way is his team the 13th best in the nation. Give him time and he'll coach his way out of the top 25. His greatest strength has been his ability to recruit and it's apparent he's recruiting a lot of guys that will fit right in Memphis.
  7. When you hear your team is leading but then the decision gets delayed...
  8. I guess the 2-8 record in the last 10 matchups is coloring my recollection...
  9. Has IU EVER won at the RAC?
  10. With the rust, I'd go right at him and attempt to get him in foul trouble.
  11. Yeah...IU did not look sharp at all.
  12. In reality, I think I'm down the middle...not overly optimistic or pessimistic, I'd like to think I'm realistic, and the numbers and my eyes agree that this is a team with a lot to prove at this point. I'm with you on this...IU wins or losses don't really rank that high in my life priorities at this stage. I'm happy with wins and annoyed at losses, but I tend to get over it pretty quick.
  13. I don't think I was ever s sunshine pumper, but I was accused of it when I tried to bring a little balance in the past when I thought folks were overly negative, so I wear the badge mostly for fun. Now, frankly, I think a lot of the fans are perhaps a little overly optimistic with a young team. For sure, they can and likely will get better as the season goes on, but other teams will also get better. I'd feel a whole lot more confident with X and Galloway in the backcourt, assuming X quickly shakes off the rust and plays like he's capable of playing, but right now, I don't think IU has proven much besides the ability to beat teams they should beat. I'd love to be more optimistic, but right now, I'm very much in "show me" mode.
  14. Here's why I think the Kansas game is pure fool's gold (and why IU's metrics look so lousy)... 1. Yes, IU can look great against high quality teams At HOME with a roaring capacity crowd behind them. 2. BUT IU tends to get drubbed by decent to great teams at neutral sites/on the road. 3. AND IU tends to play up or down to the level of competition they face. IU has proven that they have sufficient talent to compete with any team in the country (see Kansas game). IU has also proven that they are very young and mentally soft (See UConn/Auburn games and a variety of underperforming wins). When faced with reasonably talented/experienced teams away from the comfortable confines of the home court, IU demonstrates that they expect to lose and have little confidence or the mental toughness to get over the hump. This is not a new problem, but with a younger team, it's more pronounced. The vast majority of IU's problems are between the ears. If IU goes 3-1 or 4-0 over the next four games, I'll be very surprised. I love your optimism though.
  15. Any links out there for the replay?
  16. With what I see today? Nope. Nor should they.
  17. Tied up at 57. Agree it's a fun game to watch. Granted, MSU is missing Fears and was not having a great year before that, but this is the best ISU team I remember since the Bird days. It's great that they set up the rematch when ISU got to where the game could be competitive. I wouldn't even consider it an upset if ISU beats MSU on their home floor.
  18. It depends a lot on what the team actually knows. If it's a he said/she said, my inclination is to keep the kid on the team, let him practice, but I'd hesitate to put him in games, especially on the road. It appears that UI at least has some doubts about his innocence and thus the suspension. Booting a kid off the team basically says you've already tried and convicted him. That feels pretty extreme to me without knowing a lot more.
  19. Trying to make a terrible draft night decision go away...
  20. *too (Please fix...the grammar police and all of your IU English professors are having a conniption.)
  21. Yeah, we don't have the whole story, but having a friend who gets his house shot up at 4 a.m. seems like a red flag to me. As I said earlier, may be time to find new friends.
  22. Just curious...how many of your overnight parties were interrupted with gunfire?
  23. Probably. As I recall, Payne was known as a recruiter. That's a long stretch to being a good coach though. Personally, I'm skeptical of a coaching hire that isn't proven as a coach. So many schools hire former NBA players and/or proven recruiters hoping/thinking they can coach and the vast majority of them have proven they aren't that good at actual coaching.
  24. "Instead, you see idiots on Twitter (thankfully they’re in the minority) asking why Fears was out so late and not safely at home." I think that's a valid question, frankly. Didn't this happen at like 4 a.m.?
