2024/2025 portal/late decommits IU is interested in

Is there any reason to expect Carlyle not to commit this weekend? I'm assuming that is what he is waiting for. Not sure if will want to think it over for a few days, take another visit, etc, -

I know we need a shooter but not sure how many minutes will be available for him. I think Leal, with his knowledge of the system / IQ might be a better option. -
One thing I like about Ballo is he seems to be really enjoying the IU atmosphere. Glad to see him having fun and hoping he can party next April!

The food was awesome. Funny thing was my first meal there was KFC at midnight. After traveling for a day we said we were hungry and that is what they picked up, lol. Had 4 braiis. Grilled fish, steak, lamb, etc was all great. Had some Biltong, springbok carpoccio, poikie and some other stuff. Didn't try the bobotie. The fish and especially the calamari were really good. The cool thing is food is really cheap there due to the strength of the $. Had Chateaubriand (which was excellent!) for like $20. Housing is also cheap due to so many people leaving the country. If it wasn't half way around the world and had reliable utilities and medical care, it would be a great place to retire.

It was an epic trip. My wife bought a pint glass from Shackleton that has a penguin on it. I've already been told not to use that one when guests come over. Strictly for her.

The wineries were awesome. Stopped at 6 wineries. Did 4 tastings. Brought home 4 bottles. Groot Constantia is the oldest in the country dating back to the 1600s. Napoleon drank their wine! Some of these wineries were incredible. Never been to Napa Valley but might have to check it out for a comparison now.

Drank a lot of beer in South Africa. Nothing struck me as all that great. Carling Black Label is their Budweiser. Stopped at a few brewpubs.

I'd love a vacation to Mobile. Drinking beer while playing in the water sounds fun. I'd also recommend waders if you are going to be in the water awhile. Never been there. Unfortunately I don't think that trip will be in the cards for awhile.

I had a family member with it 20+ years ago. I'll echo @Zlinedavid in saying that medical advances have improved outcomes a lot since then. They used to say you were cured after 5 years of remission. Don't know if that is still the case but if he has regained his strength and cardio, or once he does, I'd expect him to be 100%.

Highly recommend the right shoes for hiking. I have one pair of hiking boots but generally prefer hiking shoes. I got a pair of Merrell trail runners for my trip to Africa. Super comfortable. Think light weight sneakers with good traction. Those and my keen sandals were all I needed for 2 weeks. Wife and I hiked Lions Head in Cape Town yesterday. -
Yep. Sara time
