Yep. I was just more confirming this DOES seem to be a direct link to Cignetti.
I agree. I want to say one of Fuzzy's planes was used to bring Archie and his family to B-town for his intro press conference.

I think Bogey Bird is also (or was) associated with Fuzzy Zoeller. The tail number on the plane ends with "FZ". Its been used in the past for IU coaching searches and he's from the New Albany area.

Anyone know if the standard BTN will replay the game at all? I’ll be out all day so it isn’t worth the money to watch it for me.
They have often replayed the BTN+ games a couple days later on BTN, its how I've always watched these exhibition games. I checked the on-screen guide for BTN this morning and it showed a 2-hour window on Tuesday morning (I think) that was something like "Big Ten Replay" without listing the specific game. I would bet that could be it. I set the DVR for that. Keep an eye open Tues-Wed to the BTN schedule, I bet it will pop up sometime.

The reclass guard thing didn't work out so well for us last time, so I was happy to see this article state that this would be the appropriate class for his age. Had some brief, unpleasant flashbacks.

Wow NCAA.....way to drop the hammer. UT under Pruitt committed hundreds of violations. Penalties today. No postseason ban, 5 years of probation and a $8M fine.
Basically a stern finger pointing from your Mom or Dad had more flex. Just go away NCAA.
Think I saw they had to vacate a couple seasons worth of wins. Does that mean we didn't lose to the Vols in that bowl game? Still hate that we gave that game away so I'm not feeling any better.

My first visit to Cook Hall happened to be a day when Tom Crean and the staff were putting media members through a mock practice and training session. We were just in the publicly open part of the facility when Joanie Crean walked by and invited us up to the 2nd story viewing area of Cook Hall so we could watch. She playfully gave Pat Forde a hard time about how he was doing. She was incredibly nice and invited us to take a full look around Cook Hall and then over to the football stadium where we found our way into the football training facilities.
I've always remembered her kindness on that day, and it made me really disappointed when things just didn't work out for Tom at IU.

Wondering in the new age of NIL if players make decisions on which school they are going to commit to, and then the apparent delay before the announcement is just when the marketing people and lawyers are ironing out the details of the NIL deals. Not sure when any of those deals can become official, but there definitely are more things to work out than before (unless you were schools like UK back in the day $$).

Let’s think about this too for a second: with Pack making $400k a year, that means he’s likely making more than what, 95% of college assistant coaches probably? Imagine you’re an assistant at a P5 school and a player is making more than you. Wild Wild West has begun.
And maybe not just the wild west for players. I don't know Painter's position on NIL deals but I assume I know Mitch's position. Wonder how long before we see a head scratching coaching move where a coach leaves a traditionally strong school for and upstart simply because the new school is all in on NIL deals. Why coach with one hand tied behind your back. Not saying that would be the situation with Matt/Purdue but I bet it does happen at some point for some coach.

Can I be 100% honest here? I think everyone has this take until they don't. Those vacations for Coach Knight were all good until the Patterson, Miller, Reed, Eggers, etc. years where his time off during recruiting ended up meaning that we were not getting the players into the program needed to win games.
So I will tell on myself now. Being on vacation at the moment is all well and good as long as it works out. If it doesn't, this is the type of thing that is going to be a data point in a list of what went wrong. Just being honest.
I was a member of the downtown Indy health club NIFS (National Institute for Fitness and Sport) in the late 90s when it hosted the Nike All American Camp for a few years. All the best high school players in the country were there and so was every single college coach except one, Coach Knight. Remember seeing Coach K, Lute Olson, Tubby, Gene Keady and every other coach. IU was represented by Mike Davis and John Treloar. Had a friend who was really plugged into to the recruiting world and the word was always, "Coach Knight is in Canada on a fishing trip" or "Coach Knight's on a big golfing trip." Drove me crazy. Its why I'm a little leery of hearing about a recruiting approach where the head coach is only the "closer". Coach Woodson's been off to a really solid start when it comes to recruiting and there are other factors that favor him (a couple strong recruiters as assistants) over Coach Knight in Knight's final IU years . . . but I do worry a little about how much a lifetime NBA guy really wants to be involved in recruiting.

I don't know anything about Fife's happiness level at IU but I have noticed it seems Hunter is much more in Woodson's ear during games than either of the other two assistants. Its not surprising for one coach to be more involved in a game, especially if they have the scout for that game. But after randomly paying attention to the sideline dynamic a lot during the B1G tournament, it was striking just how much more Woodson relied on Hunter for advice in every game than the other two. Again, probably not relevant to anything relating to Fife, but I just found it interesting.

I don't follow high school recruiting super closely, but I'm used to seeing reports of the IU staff out at high school games throughout the season. Either on here or actually seeing Crean and Miller at games I streamed or watched on tv, occurred to me that I've seen none of that this year. Anyone seen the staff at games this year? Seems like it would be a priority for a new staff to see guys in person, especially younger kids. Maybe/hopefully its happening and I've just missed any talk of it.

Would anyone who's seen much of Sisley compare him to a Gordon Hayward type player? I know Hayward was more of a late bloomer and wasn't on the AAU circuit as much due to his tennis career but some of the things I've seen written about Sisley (guard skills with good size) make me think of Hayward as a player. Again, I've only seen some highlights.

Tom Luginbill named Sorsby as his "Sleeper Recruit" of the 2022 cycle from a national perspective in an ESPN+ roundtable article posted in the last couple days. Luginbill said Sorsby was "wildly missed throughout the recruiting process" and that he is a "terrific prospect and talented passer who was extremely productive at a high level in Texas". The preview on the main ESPN page hinted that an IU recruit was mentioned as a sleeper and I was actually expecting it to be Jaylin Lucas. Cool to see a couple IU recruits viewed as big sleepers by the national guys.

Lander sure still seems very engaged on the sidelines which doesn’t always mean anything but if he were truly that unhappy he sure isn’t showing it. He could very well leave but I bet Woody already told him he needs to work on certain things and if he is then he will get his chance someday.
I agree with your comments about his body language during games. Been paying attention to that for several weeks and its always very positive. Really engaged and very supportive of his teammates, even the ones playing ahead of him. Don't know what will happen to him but it can't be easy for a guy so highly recruited to not be playing at all. Hopefully he's working his ass off in practice and can take advantage of any opportunities that may arise during the season.
