  1. Volume does matter. However, the 40% shooter isn't as elusive as it appears. They are just concentrated on teams that made a concerted effort to recruit and develop shooters. We already talked about Purdue. However, KY had four, Baylor had three, Northwestern had three, Dayton had two plus another at 39%, Duke had three, Colorado had three, etc. All of those players had significant attempts (a couple were below 100).
  2. Some of it is probably the difference in the composition of the academic specialties between the two universities. Engineering, sciences and Ag dominate at Purdue. When I went to IU, the Business School felt like it was on an island much of the time.
  3. That would have put them third and tied for fifth on the IU roster ahead of Cupps and Leal. I wasn't basing it on 100 minimum attempts. I'd love to find a young transfer or two who shot 40% plus, but didn't get a lot of playing time on a very good team.
  4. Just a very quick search of Halaby's comments: What are your thoughts on the Palestinian situation now? Growing anger. Something has to change. Israel has to be dismantled and disarmed. They are endangering the entire globe. Knowing a little about the Eskanazi family, I suspect if the exhibit had not been canceled, the museum would have gotten a stern request to return the $15M the Eskanazis gifted for its renovation. Not even mentioning all of the other millions they've donated to IU.
  5. Not a lot, but Purdue had five: Smith, Loyer, Gillis, Colvin & Heide
  6. They’re all mercenaries. Not blaming them. Get the cash before the rules change
  7. And a lot of open second chance opportunities. That’s why, with Ballo, we have to have some perimeter shooters
  8. Right. Both McD AAs, plus if they land Carlyle, former top 50 and HM all Pac12. That’s ridiculous talent.
  9. The players attributed it to Crean and Buckley https://www.insidethehall.com/2015/10/08/getting-better-all-the-time-tom-creans-culture-of-player-development/
  10. Crean and Tim Buckley were excellent at developing shooting skills. Yogi, Vic, Watford, Zeisloft, Bielfeldt all improved their three point shooting under that staff. We haven't seen the same since then.
  11. You can't have the B1G FOY, Pac 12 FOY and a 2 time all Pac 12 player and not be a top 20 team, top three in B1G and at least a Sweet 16. Anything less would be a failure. They will easily be one of the three most talented teams in the B1G.
  12. From ESPN on 4/15. Still looking for that elusive knockdown shooter. Indiana landed Rice, looking for others in portal Mike Woodson is wasting no time rebuilding his roster after a down year in Bloomington. The Hoosiers already landed Washington State's Myles Rice, one of the best point guards in the portal. Outlook: They're also expected to host Stanford's Kanaan Carlyle for a visit this week. Carlyle is a former top-50 recruit capable of explosive performances. Neither Rice nor Carlyle is a knockdown shooter, but Indiana is also pursuing Connor Hickman (Bradley) and Ryan Conwell (Indiana State) to fill that role.
  13. I don't know if it's accurate, but there was some chatter that Hickman had concerns with IU's offense and his visit didn't dispel those concerns.
  14. Probably part of the negative recruiting DC2345 referenced
  15. That was a condition of joining the B1G.
  16. Which league has 100% free agency, no salary cap, no salary tax and no employment contracts? Also the teams/league don’t make the rules?
  17. No professional league could survive under the current transfer/NIL regime
