Obviously NIL helped here, but this is also a product of JHS’s development over this past season. These high ranked kids see JHS come in and develop into a projected lottery pick, which shows this staff can get kids to the next level. Kudos to Woodson and staff. Exciting times!

Watching the game, it didn’t even feel this close.

I really would’ve liked to have seen Gunn play over Bates in the second half. Bates had brought nothing offensively for some time now, and their defense is about a wash IMO.

Exactly. Tony Allen made a heck of a living just playing defense.

There was an article I read recently about him and he had this quote, “Teams don’t pay players to play defense.” That tells you all you need to know.

I just watched the play and Quinn Buckner said “It’s his knee cap, you can see it.” Not sure if dislocated or fractured but not good. Hope he’s alright.

I understand wanting the fans to feel involved, but their votes should not count in any of the sports All-Star games. I know this is the NBA thread, but case in point is Darius Leonard not making the Pro Bowl.

I didn’t watch the game, but read that VO shot 4-15 and was a big reason for lack of ball movement in the first half. I’ve seen other posters on here state that the Pacers are very good when VO isn’t looking to get his and lets the game come to him. For those of you who watched, did you see this as an issue last night?

I read somewhere that he wasn’t going to come back until he was 100%. He’s probably close, considering he’s doing drills and what not, but evidently not there yet.

I guess I just don’t understand what you think the NBA does differently than the NFL. IMO, the NFL and NBA are pretty equal. MLB is a different animal IMO. The thing about it is that most of the NLF and NBA players get marketed in college, whereas college baseball doesn’t get near the following. By the time these guys get to their respective leagues, they’re already household names for the most part. The MLB players are already at a marketing disadvantage in that regard. Also, like others have said, winning has a lot to do with marketing. Trout is the best player in this generation, but he’s been on terrible teams. Unlike the NBA and key positions in the NFL, MLB players have a smaller effect on team success.

How do you say so? No matter the sport, if we’re talking the elite athletes, they don’t have a hard time marketing them even in smaller markets.
