  1. What can I say, I like to push myself. I should definitely get double points for that one!
  2. Buddy of mine that played at Ole Miss said he is very solid, he just lost his starting job to a stud transfer from Georgia. He hated to see him leave. Said he is an aggressive, solid tackler.
  3. Even Greg Brady knew the importance of a playbook. Maybe the staff switched his out with a decoy prior to him leaving. James needs more Brady Bunch values and less Taylor Swift scorned girlfriend vindictiveness.
  4. Agree with many of your points. Step 1 should be ALL conferences MUST play the same amount of conference games. Make it mandatory to be eligible for the playoff. How the SEC and ESPN convince the college football world that playing a fourth, total gimme, non-conference game toward the end of the year maintains schedule strength is beyond me. It's an additional bye week to rest players and prepare for rivals. Therein lies the ultimate challenge; it's not the other conferences vs the SEC. The true power struggle is ESPN wanting to control ALL of college football. The B1G told ESPN to pound sand when they created the B1G network. Getting Fox Sports to become more aggressive could help in the isolation of the SEC and increase negotiating power.
  5. Probably saw/heard how Bates was used and performed, and answered any last questions about style of play.
  6. LOVE this idea. Put it under, "former recruits that went elsewhere". Then place it in off topics, because that's what they are.
  7. Eric Bledsoe get an "A" in Algebra 2 after failing Algebra 1. They make it work.
  8. You have to figure there will be a response of some sort by the B1G, PAC whatever, and ACC. I think the SEC egos are running a little wild when they think Ohio State and Michigan would bend over backwards to join them. Hell, Texas fans think they're coming in to run things in the SEC. Texas is the super hot crazy girl. Good luck SEC!
  9. This is a concern until he proves otherwise. The SEC is absolutely cutthroat in the way they operate. Hope Warren is up to the challenge. Delaney wouldn't have been caught off guard in this current environment.
  10. Imagine a scenario where Oklahoma State joins the B1G and A&M jumps because they are pissed at the SEC. You create a bitter conference rivalry within a couple football hungry states. Start a B1G/SEC challenge in football and all conference fans win. Get Georgia Tech on board, and we're really in business. Not too likely, but fun to ponder.
  11. Both of those guys were studs! Marcus Liberty was the #1 player in the country. He was in the SI issue with David Robinson on the cover that had Damon Bailey, Alonzo Mourning, and Kenny Anderson as the top players in their respective classes. Really looking forward to watching Kaleb play and how he develops. He seems like the perfect fit for what CMW wants to do.
  12. Very true. I tried politely explaining that to my friend. Woody closing at IU is MUCH different than Avery Johnson trying to close at Bama.
  13. Had a former Bama player that is very connected to the program tell me Yasir is a great guy, but never closed recruits. I tried to explain recruiting to IU and Bama is different. Hope this is just the start. Love this commitment.
  14. That's an interesting scenario. Holding tight with no threat of leaving projects weakness. With Texas coming, big brother will call the shots in Texas matters. But what if the SEC calls their bluff and boots them? You'd have to think the B1G would take them and their market in a heartbeat. But would A&M really want to leave? This could get REAL interesting.
  15. Listened to JOX radio and Finebaum down here in Birmingham this week. TAMU is PISSED about this! One school rep referred to it as being "new membered". Said it would NEVER happen to Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, or Tennessee.
  16. The B1G already thumbed their nose at ESPN with the B1G network. ESPN has built the SEC into what it is today. They protect and build their product which is good business. All rankings, recruiting rankings, GameDay, and feel-good stories will promote their brand. The BIG controls more markets and has more leverage than the SEC did pre ESPN. I wonder if it will become a 2 conference war for supremacy. The B1G better be proactive and grab Notre Dame and a Texas school for markets, or convince Georgia Tech or Virginia to jump. Kansas also has a national basketball brand. The B1G needs more legit national contenders in football on an annual basis, so some schools need to really step up.(Michigan, Penn State, us:) I also hope Fox Sports gets more aggressive marketing and protecting the B1G brand. We need the same level of slanted reporting and analysis the SEC gets if we ever want to catch up. No more former SEC analysts, and they need to have influence over the other poll for rankings and public perception. Just some random thoughts.
  17. Agreed. I think that's the new game in recruiting and roster management. Although transferring between IU/PU would be tough.
  18. This. The Karlaftis pitch of "come take over for me", should be "come get double teamed and isolated like me."
  19. Absolutely. If Brohm doesn't get things turned around immediately, it's real easy to add Strickland to Bell and others as cautionary tales of talent wasted on a sinking program.
  20. It's gotta be tough for the top in-state kids this year. IU is on a roll and has historic momentum. The recruiting class is historic as well. CTA has established a family culture that is lauded by the national media as genuine. You can join your fellow Hoosiers and be a part of history, or miss out. If he goes to Stanford, and it isn't a fit for some reason, he could potentially transfer to IU. He could join the team, but he wouldn't be a part of the famed 2022 recruiting class. If he goes to Purdue, because that's what mom wants, he'll play on a losing team in a weak division and stare at ugly girls for 4 years. Good luck with the decision!
  21. Man, you're all over recruiting. Much appreciated!
