  1. This. 33% from 3 versus 40-45% from 2 wins all day. As long as they're good shots within the flow of the offense, gotta have a green light. Situational exceptions must still be considered for time, strategy, and if a player is in a major funk.
  2. Not sure if Tommy Rees has enough of a track record, but could be worth a look. Honestly don't know much about him, but he would have experience at winning programs.
  3. With conference realignment basically creating the Big 2 conferences (B1G & SEC), it will be interesting to see if a top coach from one of the lesser conferences makes a jump. Dabo would seem to be more of a SEC guy (Bama), but who knows. Utah's coach would be a homerun for someone.
  4. Thanks. I was hoping so, but good to hear. Hopefully they majorly invest in the program with this hire. It would be nice for loyal fans like us to see a consistently competitive team.
  5. Solid pun work! We're in agreement on WHAT needs to be done. It's the WHEN and HOW that are in question. I really hope Dolson is gathering financial pledges to make a huge hire and commit funds for facility upgrades. We'll see.
  6. In a perfect world, CTA rights the ship. Not likely. With our current program trajectory, the next ideal is he moves to DC, where he is best suited, and we bring in a brilliant offensive guy as head coach. Unfortunately, I don't see either of those happening. CTA seems like a great guy that loves the program, but we probably need a complete overhaul.
  7. Dabo would spend a year or two rehab coaching for Saban, then take over Bama in my opinion. They love him here.
  8. Gotcha. Makes sense. Just a theory.
  9. Anyone else think the Justin Fuente hire as an "offensive analyst" was insurance in case CTA is fired during the season? Carey could easily slide to interim HC and Fuente to OC. Carey will have great insight regarding the entire football program to help evaluate for a coaching search.
  10. Guess we'll never know. We now have the last couple seasons to frame our opinions. At the time...
  11. Correct. He was actually a somewhat hot name. SEC connections from Ole Miss, plus the tag of "if he can win at Indiana..."
  12. Guessing their compensation package for the point guard they hoped would reclass got shifted to Boogie. Doesn't really bother me anymore with NIL. We can now compete, but it doesn’t mean we get everyone we want. I wanted Boogie, he's gonna be a stud, wish him the best, but on to the next. Keep in mind, if X didn't get hurt last season, JHS wouldn't have had the role he did last year. GC will be hard to keep off the floor as a sophomore, and he doesn't seem like the type to back down from a challenge. Gotta have guys that want to compete and compliment each other on the floor.
  13. It better click soon for Ware that he needs to put in the effort to excel. If he gets labeled as someone that won't give max effort all the time, his NBA aspirations are in serious danger. Glad we have options and can make him earn minutes.
  14. Combining elite talent with one and done ability and aspirations, with players like Sparks that dream about playing for IU, is ideal. Gotta have both to win big in my opinion. Hope he continues to work and makes an impact for us. Kid is living his dream.
  15. Relationships and FOMO are very powerful. Hopefully Liam and Boogie put the full court press on him!
  16. Queen has many great qualities as a big man; Having "tremendous athleticism" is not one of those. Not sure how much effort that author put into the accuracy of the article.
  17. Well said. I'd also add, with NIL, we can now compete in recruiting with certain teams without having to play the bag game. The recruiting game and power have shifted. Now is the perfect time to have someone like CMW as our CEO.
  18. I'm actually hopeful the team pulls together and wins. 21-17 good guys.
  19. Coaches may have given their final pitch to Boogie, but Liam McNeeley has not! Make the call, and go get him Liam!!
  20. That's a great point. Cam Camper showed major frustration when he was interviewed after the OSU game with play calling. To his credit, he didn't say anything negative. Can't imagine he's happy at this point with the way the season has gone. The entire situation is beyond frustrating. We better get a couple wins soon, or the wheels will fall completely off.
  21. I see what you're saying from a consistency standpoint, but as optimistic as I am, we were never going to win that game in Ann Arbor. We needed to see both qb's in multiple game situations. Bell looked for different things than Carey does. It's unfortunate neither qb separated themselves, but then again, it was against Michigan's defense in the rain. Sorsby's legs and grit honestly would give him an edge in my book. Tayven has great arm potential, but he seems to preselect a receiver, stare him down, and throw it there whether it's the correct read or not. The Rutgers game should be the final game to determine permanent qb1 this season. That being said, I don't know the dynamics of the locker room, and CTA can't lose the team to close the season or he's finished. Let’s hope one of the qbs has a great week and we smoke Rutgers.
  22. DQ reminds me a little of Sean May after watching last night. Similar frame, hands, and game. If we were to land him, he most likely would play Malik's role from last season as a freshman. Malik and Sparks would both be veterans and know our system much better. Let DQ learn, develop, and get stronger/more explosive without asking him to be the focal point in the post as a freshman.
  23. Not sure about a song, but there was a lovely discussion with a mom and her daughter walking on the beach. Always perfectly timed during ballgames. 😂
