That would be huge if true. Happy as long as we get one of Fife/Lewis. I think Fife has a more impressive recruitment resume IMO, and has been more recently recruiting similar players/territories than Lewis, which should help in the transition.
-
I think Lander stays. Aside from social media related IU support, he came to IU to play with TJD and the schools that reached out to him were extremely underwhelming IMO. I donāt see Brooks coming here but Iāll gladly take a talent upgrade/anyone who wants to come play for Indiana. Especially if Race and Geronimo take their talents elsewhere.

Happy that Woodson kept Hunter around. Fingers crossed he can get 1 of Fife or Lewis. Wouldnāt mind to see Ostrom stay since he was undeniably our best recruiter but with Woodsonās connections I trust him to find the best fit for him.
-
Not to mention, Matta was being considered for the Head coach role at Georgia, Wichita St, and even UCLA. Glad to have him around.

Iāll start by saying I share the disappointment in the hire. I think we could have found a way to land a more proven coach in the CBB realm. But for all I know, Dolson tried his best to land a Stevens/Drew/Beard/Muss like we all wanted but they all said thanks no thanks. Letās keep it real, the IU job is not for everyone and unless youāre offering Cal/Coach K $, probably werenāt going to land a coach weād consider a āhome run.ā We will likely never know how high/low on that list Woodson was. But what I do know is that it wasnāt my $10 mill being spent and I didnāt have to waste time/energy doing the search. What needs to be addressed though, is that some of you really need to take some time away from IU basketball. Thereās as many reasons to get behind Woodson as there are reasons to ridicule, and itās your choice on which path you take. For all the love and passion you have towards IU basketball, maybe use that in a healthy manner by supporting a man who not only helped build IU to what it is today but also WANTS THIS JOB (which isnāt easy to come by, clearly). Whatās done is done my friends. If you donāt want to support IU basketball because you arenāt emotionally mature enough to handle patience and inconsistencies, please feel free to spend your time and money on a BTN Plus subscription and you can watch all the 76ā Hoosier games on a loop.

For a guy I thought was for sure gonna go pro, heās certainly giving off vibes heās coming back. I havenāt seen a player on our roster be so public about his love for his teammates and disappointment that they are leaving. Not getting my hopes up but I feel like if you were leaving then why care so much, ya know?

It's time.... HIRE BRAD STEVENS!
Hoosierdave replied to KoB2011's topic in General Basketball Discussion
Let me preface by saying I donāt think heās coming to IU. It would be the weirdest move to claim yourself as a āmassholeā one day and days/weeks later move onto another organization. That being said, if you do read the response, it wasnāt truthful. He entertained an offer. Unless everyone who gives inside scoops like Chris007, IUwins0708, Coach SS, Rabjohns, Dan Dakich, Billinglsey99, etc all banded together to troll the IU fan base, which I highly, highly doubt. And why are Woj and Goodman considered credible with this right now? They said it was āridiculousā that we think heād ever consider it, BUT AGAIN, HE DID. Also, if itās so ridiculous, why even use your platform to address it? Oh wait, itās because they enjoy the attention and love any easy opportunity to gain ācredibilityā in the industry. -

Would love to know what amount at this very moment would make Stevens flip to IU. If what Dolson is saying is true and only 2 boosters are throwing money in, imagine if we can others involved. If we needed any further $ to cover the cost, what's to say we can't start a gofundme and have 20,000+ Iu fans throw in too? It's clear this coaching search has given fans a second life and we all are getting this feeling its make or break time for this program. -

Iāll say this, I am not giving up on Dolson. Sounds like heās swinging for the fences and walking around with a blank check. As CoachSS said in his email, Dolson isnāt going for some mid major/unproven coach with this hire. -

No worries, at the end of the day, itās all our faults for not having more skepticism and allowing ourselves to hear what we want. If we end up with any of the coaches on these hot boards Iāll be very happy. -

He said āIām not a kid anymoreā, time to move on. Smh, hopefully Dolson can offer up that money to Beard or Drew. -

If this turns out to be true, how deliciously ironic is it that all the haters say weāre just a delusional fan base living in the past. Well, newsflash, itās because of our history/tradition (and yes of course, $) that this (hopefully) happened. -

Rabjohns just tweeted no announcement this weekend, Dolson ābeing deliberate and taking his timeā. -

Apparently the guy ISP is tweeting about has similar sources but the other guy has all the juicy details about the timeline and legitimacy surrounding Brad to IU. -

Interesting, thanks! Cautiously optimistic. What was said on Btown banners that everyoneās excited about? -

So happy to be back on HSN! Where/why are people feeling optimistic that thereās gonna be news tomorrow?! -
Thereās also what, like 700 transfers per year nowadays? I like his style of play for sure and think it would be a great fit for us but 6 schools in 6 years doesnāt scream this kid is willing to trust the process with a program. To quote the Miami Herald, Miamiās coach let him go since āhe had trouble getting through to Cross, had confidence issues and became detached when he wasnāt playing well.ā Im sorry but that just doesnāt excite me, I want kids with grit and fortitude. If Archie hadnāt recruited him so heavily and you heard that quote, would you want the staff to jump into the mix or explore the field instead?
-
My thoughts exactly. Not sure Iām in love with the idea of getting a kid who canāt definitely say his heart is in playing basketball moving forward.
-
I canāt speak to the recruiting process cuz I never went through it lol but my gut tells me the coaching staff is aware of him jumping around from school to school (they likely ask coaches what these kids are like on and off the court, no?) If it was something so bad, I feel like youād be able to look up a police report...havenāt found anything of the such and sounds like Miami is a dumpster fire rn and morale is at an all time low. From a style/fit side, Iād have to look up the interview but I think the reason he picked Miami was that other teams were looking for him to play P.F. but he prefers to play SF. Iām hoping that Archie can convince him heās that ideal hybrid forward we need to stretch the floor.
