Mediocre tournament success. And their results would not be the same in the BIG 10, IMO. Not sating they aren't good, and Shaka is absolutely a good coach. Just saying, on he national landscape, I would hope we are better in 3 to 5 years than Marquette is right now. I don't think that's being a tough crowd at all.

I hear you. But that's a bit of making a snap judgement on a coach with a very small sample size. Louisville absolutely crushed it last year. They did a phenomenal job in year one. But what if they fall back this year? And the next few are mediocre? I really think its a dangerous proposition to rush that 1st year judgement just because coach x,y, or z did it somewhere else. Because that does not tell us where they will be 5 years from now. There are tons of coaches that caught lightning in a bottle or showed flashes. But didn't pan out long term. And many coaches that started "average" and just kept building and building. In short, there are just so many approaches that can work. And we need to understand our coach's vision to properly judge how year one play out.....in relation to that vision. Not what somebody else did or is doing..

I agree. I have no idea what to expect this year. I just will not make a snap conclusion about the long term comparisons (Iowa etc) based on the first season. Every situation is different. And every long term plan can be different with different time lines.

Because it's the off season and we are bored. 😁
