  1. I agree that there are plenty of good players but we need the right combination of players. We don’t need one thing, we need complements. For example, I think we need 4 guys between the 1, 2, 3 positions. In that group, I would like 4 guys who have an answer defensively. I would like two to be legit ball handlers (then I’m redshirting Cupps). Two need to be excellent shooters. Someone may be an outstanding player but not the perfect fit for our situation right now. I think that shooting and our offensive structure are critical. We can’t just watch Miller Kopp stand in the corner passively. We can’t have the ball go into Reneau and then never come out. It’s not appealing or winning basketball. We’ve seen that. The most critical thing I’m rooting for is fixing the long term personnel. Next year was heavily gutted and beyond that was basically nil. If Woody can get the roster normalized for the future, that will be a huge win for all of us. I have been pounding the table for Ryan Conwell High motor, tough kid. Shot well and not a slow setup Good size and rebounds like an animal for his position. A lot of people disagree with me, but these really good mid major players have proven that they acquit themselves very nicely at this level. It’s proven constantly. I’m not a snob about a guy at a school like ISU. I think they would have finished 3rd or 4th in the B1G and they absolutely got hosed by the committee. just my two cents.
  2. This is great news. Third straight year we pulled a five star in the spring.
  3. I used to live there and the amount of growth there has been amazing.
  4. Thornton or Perkins Leland Walker Ryan Conwell Hickman Tucker Blazi Best rim protector
  5. Also, there are different types of athleticism. I’d call Geronimo a straight line athlete. Can run and jump. But this young man is far more agile. It’s a totally different type of athlete when you look at them laterally. Some of those drives through the lane, no way could Geronimo do that.
  6. Great for Ware. He did everything right and carried himself very well. He played hard and well. Great asset for the program and I wish him all the best.
  7. Yeah I’m sure he’s getting connections going with Adam Howard. If I were him, I’d be calling Liam too.
  8. It’s jarring to see how mediocre Sampson’s defense is.
  9. What? They blew that lead! Thanks for the heads up. Will turn it back on. Purdue to me is the most impressive team in the tourney so far and the temperature will rise in the Bloomington administration and nepo baby donor offices as a result. Pam Whitten may not realize what that will look like.
  10. Nothing like having the classlessness, lack of self awareness, and general DBaggery to take a shot at working people trying to live their lives while having the luxury of getting paid for playing a sport. Go make fun of a nurse working an overnight shift taking care of an old person at 2 am using the bathroom while you dribble a basketball. Dufus.
  11. I wonder how long his record for push offs and stiff arms with his off hand when he’s carrying the ball will last? It’s so high that I would say 75 years minimum.
  12. Surprised they aren’t looking at Josh Scherz. He would fit their program perfectly IMO.
  13. Ryan Conwell 6-6 from 3 against Minnesota right now. Still lot of time left and he’s got 23 and 5 assists. #ATopPriority
  14. I’m sorry I was too busy laughing at the gif? Say what? Crean, not known for his humor, even admits this was funny.
  15. Some buzz Adam Howard will go to Michigan in some capacity. He took IU off his Twitter handle. He has a big role with Grow the Game, which I believe helps managers interested in coaching. Dusty May has advised that group. Connecting the dots.
  16. Michigan, not a job you can turn down. That’s a destination job and has a ton of pluses. I’d take it over Louisville every day of the week. I like Dusty a lot and will pull for him except vs IU of course. As a coach, can’t say I watch all his games but I did see them beat Arizona and really liked his offense. Personally I think he needs some help from his staff with the D. The nice thing is Michigan will give him a chance and he has the potential to recruit there. Like to see IU guys do well.
  17. I have never been a huge Few guy. Fine coach. Racks up wins in a safe environment but doesn’t show much when the going gets tough. The guy who I like is Tommy Lloyd his ex assistant. He got a $6 M deal at Arizona which has been far better than us for 20 years but the passion and exposure is bigger here but for our ineptitude and dysfunction. But man I’d make a run at him with $10M and not bleep around to say IU is serious. He’d be a great match here. He’s got an urgency and passion that we have lacked but he also has the roster construction and strategic skills.
  18. I really like Nabors. You never know, he could surpass Harrison. Harrison has that radius and ability in close quarters but this kid is really electric. Very sudden. LT could also be interesting to have stud bookends for Williams. Bears are in a very good spot. Their future looks excellent. You get some of these tough spots filled and then over time you stack the defense. Next 2-3 drafts after this year with a heavy emphasis on D and this team can take off.
  19. Honestly. I am VERY optimistic on the offense. We might have a question at backup OL and QB but for the most part I think we could get back to an offense worthy of Kevin Wilson. If I were CCC and Haines, DT would keep me up at night. Those guys are hard to find so hopefully some guys pop in the spring portal. I think our ends should be ok and our back 7 solid.
  20. You’re not wrong that it is a likely scenario. And they could win it all. I don’t think Houston or UConn are as good. Having said that, while IU fans may be terrified, Duke has survived when UNC wins it all and vice-versa. OSU football has gone into urgency mode with UM winning it all and on a roll with recruiting. If Purdue wins it all, the golf clap can mentality will end. Pam Whitten, QB, the Simons and company will be startled by the urgency, if not rage, from the fan base. It will rise to defcon 5 if Purdue wins it all. It might be good for IU to wake up the admin at IU and all their politics and dysfunction.
