It’s not as easy as some thought it would be to fill out the bench
To me, the bench is where the UCONN’s, KU’s and UNC’s of the world have the advantage. For guys looking to start, it’s who can make the best offer (within reason) but you get outside of top 6 spots on a roster, now recent program success is more heavily weighted because if I’m not gonna start, I’d at least like to be playing for a known winner

Road2Zion (Zionsville) and Zvillhoosier (Zionsville) sound awfully familiar lol.
Wait a minute, is someone impersonating me? (I’m not on Btown Banners and no idea what this is in reference to, just making sure I’m not being falsely implicated in some thing 😁)

Dolson has a plan. We just need to be patient because there won’t be real news coming out daily over the next couple weeks and there will be plenty of rumors.
Comforting to know and thanks for your info. Setting aside who the next coach might be, what percentage would you put on Woodson being here next year?
-
Great responses so far and you’re right @tdhoosier, better phrasing would have been “Who is MORE responsible”, which was the spirit of the question. I’m with you, I lay 75% of the blame at Woody’s feet based on all the items covered… roster construction, scheme, lack of adjustments, culture, etc. If I were Dolan I’d demand a detailed read out on exactly what Woodson is going to change for next year (assuming like most of us do that he’ll get a 4th year) and if I don’t like what I hear, changes need to be made asap. And I’d do that NOW. And if Woodson says the right things but they don’t come to fruition next year, you’ve got clear documentation to point back to as to why this just isn't going to work and can part ways in time to find someone new.

Been debating this with my IUBB buddies and there are two distinct factions so figured I’d get a pulse here…

Why would he not put Ware in for that last play???

That crab dribble by Galloway and lob to Ware was exactly how we beat them last year with JHS and TJD. Love to see more of that.

We’ve left a lot on the table around the rim. Still love the effort!

I think we go one more year with some assumptions. Let Woody get 3 veteran guards in the portal who can shoot and defend, and let’s change our approach on the court. Let’s get the three ball going and get perimeter defense (both on the shot and the drive) drastically improved. Giving up 91 points in a Big Ten game is absurd. Maybe 1-2 assistants get swapped out. No more ejections. Get the 2025 class lined up. Then hopefully we are back on track.
If there’s not a drastic change with style of play and success, then next year all bets will be off.
I think this is where I am too. But I would say there are still some simple things he could adjust still this year that would show me he’s willing to adapt.
Probably the easiest thing would be to stop taking inefficient long 2’s. It’s a terrible shot and it seems it’s built into Woody’s offense to focus on that. You even saw it last year, Kopp would consistently pass up open 3’s with a pump face, two dribbles and a long 2. Last I looked we've taken 83 long 2’s (shots from 17' to the 3-point line). That's in the 98th percentile nationally. We're shooting 26% on those shots, which is among the worst in the country. So we’re taking the most of the worst shot and making it less than most teams. Doesn’t make sense. I’d rather we shoot the 3, at least we’re hitting that at a 34% clip, so statically a better chance to go in AND an extra point. Seems that’s an “easy” adjustment that could help and I’d like to see little adjustments like that still this year.

Ok, this team and staff has completely lost me. Nearly 50 years watching and I’m done.

My son gave up at halftime vs Purdue, he’s not even watching this one. I’m only watching because I took Wisconsin to cover.
Smart move on the cover. I took my son to the Purdue game, I thought he might cry. I wouldn’t have blamed him.
-
At this point the only reason I’m stilll watching is my son thinks we can win and wants to watch with me. Oh the innocence. He thinks we still have a shot at the tournament. I hate to break it to him. Otherwise I’d be done. I really don’t enjoy this anymore
