Mmm ok.
Then I don't EVER want to hear anything about youth, injuries, anything of that nature again.
I think its 100% malpractice to not fill every scholly. I also find it unimaginable after last season.
You won't hear anything from this "true fan"!

Why? Very common. Is Dan Hurley dumb? Kansas too. Why spend it for a nobody.
Exactly. Plus if you only have x amount of money, splitting it 12 ways goes further, ..and I'd rather have better talent at positions 10-12..jmo

Now the question is this. Who will be the backup 5
I hope the staff takes a look at Carlton Lingaurd Jr from UTSA. Has a great mix of size, athleticism, and skill. He seems like a great lob threat in the PNR and can hit an open three. Not a big name but seems very capable.

If Caleb Furst hit the portal would he be someone we look at? There's speculation by some Purdue fans that he might..Both being from Fort Wayne, I'm sure Goode could do a little recruiting assuming he commits...

Any updates on Malone or has that ship sailed?

Malone scares me as first big off the bench, especially given Reneau foul issues
If Renau and Ballo both play 27-30mpg that would also give us the opportunity to go with a smaller lineup more times than not (20min+ per game).

I would say I want what you’re smoking thinking he’s coming to IU with the thought he’ll be on the bench but my neighbor works at a grow house and said she would hook me up if I ever wanted.
Well he made some good points and seemed very precise and focused in his post so I'd probably go with a mild sativa/hybrid.

Is it Connor Essegian time? Would that improve our team? Opinions?

Yes…the Miller Kopp stand in the corner role. Thats a low volume shooting role.
Depends. If Ballo demands a double team from opponents, similar to Edey, there may be a ton of shots for a guy like Leal. Depends on the defensive scheme of opponents. Fletcher Loyer was a high volume shooter this season but I suspect he'll have far fewer open shots next year, and will take less..Anyway, I agree that we need to find a better backup shooting guard and I think we will.

Leal’s not a high volume shooter, nor is he supposed to be…that’s not his role. Leal should not be playing significant minutes next year. If he is, then we didn’t address the needs like we hoped.
Thst could be his role. If we have a couple dynamic guards, his role would be to run to the corner as fast as he can and stand there. They would absolutely have to guard him. Floor spacer. But he absolutely doesn't work in a 2 guard set.

Hickman going to Cinci
Worst case scenario give 5th year Senior Anthony Leal those 15 mpg and we're still good imo.

Really was hoping we'd go with a smaller lineup w/ Mgbako at the 4, but can't complain if we land the #1 recruit in the portal (Ballo). I'd still suspect that we'll go smaller and faster at times.

I don't think we want to bring in another big who is a low post player especially if we still start two bigs. I think a guy like Bradshaw might fit what we need and that is a rim runner and a guy who scored off offensive rebounds. I don't know if we need a Payne or Ballo type unless they come as a backup. Those two aren't going anywhere to be a backup
I'd imagine Bradshaw would most likely come off the bench as well. Hard to say at this point..

I also think the dude from Evansville if he comes here would be great for the second unit when Malik is tired or is in foul trouble. One of our biggests problem since woody has been here is getting scoring from the second unit. If you have Hickman and the dude from Evansville there not as much of an issue
Agreed. Humrichous is a stud.

I just wonder why he had such a drastic falloff 9 of his last 11 games.
I've heard he finished the year with a hurt wrist but I can't confirm.

Ball State has announced that Jarron Coleman is entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer.
The 6’5” guard started all 30 games, averaging 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 steals. Coleman shot 35% from deep (68/193).
All-MAC Second Team selection
Thoughts??

Fyi..Arizona State offered Mitchell today. I'm guessing the IU offer comes pretty quick.

C’mon! Flory is only months away and nobody has a clue! When does this MUST HAVE BS end? If you think that Woody and staff are clueless, that’s your prerogative! Me I’m waiting a couple years!
Cool. It's not that deep. Lol

8th Grader? College program changer?
Top 5 player in 2027. He has unreal potential. I'd pull a Bob Knight and offer him now before Purdue and the rest of the big boys.

Illinois offered 6'7 wing Jaylan Mitchell( Evansville Reitz)today. They were his third D1 offer and first high major offer. Indiana needs to offer and start building the relationship ASAP imo.. This young man is a program changer and he's in our backyard.

Ryan Mutombo, son of Dikembe Mutombo has hit the portal. Played very limited minutes at Georgetown and has 1 year of eligibility remaining I believe. He's 7'2" and solidly built. From the videos I have checked out I would think he could possibly be an option. Would be awesome to have a Mutombo in stripes lol.
