ISU was devastated by transfers because the coach who brought those players to Terre Haute left Terre Haute. A majority of them are following him. Has next to nothing to do with NIL.

If he’s retained, next year is going to be Cupps, Sparks, Reneau, Galloway (maybe), Liam and 7-8 one year mercenaries who get the chance to say they played for a B10 program. This team will win 5-6 B10 games and have zero 2025 recruits signed due to the status of a lame duck coach. Whoever inherits this team next is going to inherit a roster of 2-3 players. If you retain Woody you almost have to extend him because you can’t let him recruit with only 2 years left on his contract. This whole situation is a mess. Just pull the plug now.

Most of these are fireable offenses as single instances, a culmination of them....oh my. These reasons alone are why he shouldn't see a year 4 and notice none of them have to do with a "down" year.

It's not my decision so I can't answer. But there's zero reason to keep him employed given his failure to build a foundation as a stop gap coach. I pity whoever has to take over this mess after next year coming off a 12-13 win season in the event he is retained knowing the one recruit Woodson signed for this class is off to the NBA.

You completely dodged the question. Name the coaches without long term or previous success who have rebounded from the position that Woodson is in. Recruiting is as stale as can be, 1 incoming recruit with 5 available scholarships open on top of being told he needs to go watch the top in-state prospects for the 2025 class. Woodson is a dead man walking.

Pearl was suspended by the NCAA because he literally told the NCAA to shove it. And 2 games at that. Nothing Chuck Person did implicated Pearl or would have even given Pearl an advantage. Chuck Person was approached by Rashan Michel, literally a custom tailor based out of ATL, and was given money to try and steer Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy who were current Auburn players at the time towards Michel as professional clients as they were thought to be high radar NBA prospects once they left Auburn. Literally, that's Auburn's involvement in the FBI probe.

Kind of hinted at this yesterday with Galloway. Galloway really has two options now that he'll have an IU degree 1) Go be a star at a place like Indiana State 2) Go be a 7th/8th man at a school that has legitimate NCAA championship aspirations. Obviously the 3rd would be stick it out at Indiana, but who wants to play for this dumpster fire and be thrown under the bus by a staff who doesn't take an ounce of accountability? But yes, I really don't see a need or reason for Galloway to stay unless Dolson cleans house.

And that's what Woodson hasn't figured and why so many NBA coaches before him have failed to the same degree. In the NBA, you can trot out 5 players and the team with the most overall talent is going to win more times than not in a 5 or 7 game series. Woodson simply believes all he has to do is out talent the opposition without hammering home some kind of system or roster construct.

I believe Banks and Gunn are in the portal within 48 hours of our Wednesday night loss in the BTT. I believe Mgbako will enter the portal but go through the draft process while shopping his NIL options; I would put his return at less than 30%. I have no clue why Galloway would use his Covid year to return to this mess with this train wreck of a staff. I hope for his sake he goes elsewhere, he deserves better. They might beg Leal to use his Covid year just for numbers sake.

If Woodson is retained I legitimately could see Cupps, Reneau, and Sparks being the only 3 back. Throw in Newton who is on scholarship and then McNeeley and you’d need to fill 8 scholarships. C- portal PF- Reneau SF- McNeeley SG- portal PG- portal Would be an absolute train wreck of a season next year.

The specific poster I responded too has been on record saying Woodson deserves and has earned a 4th year. I know your stance and why I didn’t reply to you specifically.

DD has been very vocal about recruiting players from some of these prep school factories. He tweeted the other day about IU dodging a bullet with Derik Queen. In one of the replies, a poster dug up some info and said the only player to ever win a national title out of Monteverde was MaCio Teague who started his college career at UNC-Asheville before transferring to Baylor. And only a handful more ever played in a F4, none of them being big time contributors. That’s pretty telling considering the amount of notable Monteverde alums who were big time recruits and high draft picks.

It’s a total cop out. I illustrated earlier in this thread the crowded backcourt Dalton Knecht walked into at Tennessee. Tennessee’s returning backcourt was light years better than our returning backcourt.

JHS committed to IU on 8/24/21. In the 30 months since, Woodson has landed 2 guards: 1 is a fringe-level B10 player and the other may never play basketball again. That’s a fireable offense alone in today’s climate.
