I think it’s clear both Loyer and Smith are sharpshooters but both struggled at times last year.  I think some have a harder time adjusting to the college game than others and they were both worn down by the end of that season. I think they’ll both see a dip next year with Zach gone but still think they’ll shoot it well.  To me, it’s a combination of form, consistency, etc…. Even with Galloway’s high percentage a few years ago, I never considered him a sharpshooter for example.

FTR, I think Essegian is a sharpshooter too.

I’m curious to see how they pan out too. I think Smith is a a stud, but it’ll be interesting to see how much having a 7’4” 300 lbs guy setting your ball screen every time helped. Plus the chance to just lob anywhere close to the rim….dont get me wrong I still think he’ll be good, but Edey got all of them some easy shots for sure.

This is a tricky one. Ballo seems to be the kind of player that is worth waiting for.

An interesting thought from that Sleeper podcast...that I tend to agree on...."Ballo may be a better fit for a team trying to contend than Ware was."  Ballo isn't going to mope, he's going to hit the glass, block shots, and you don't have to force-feed him. Ware was a great talent, but you had to keep giving him looks to keep him interested...Ballo is more no nonsense and high motor!

    Nobody cares but

Ipswich Tractor Boys(almost as good as Boilermakers) were up 1-0 in the 94’ and gave up 2 😢

Championship ⬆️ Premier League is hundreds of millions….loss dropped them out of auto promotion

Soccer & college basketball have incredibly passionate fans

I think your announcer said “gotta feel good to be an EEL”

He is a great guy lol and I’m very appreciative they livestream when I can’t watch, that’s for sure

You can blame me for Eels

How’s that? Lol They played well in the 1st half but their guard play has hampered them all year. Bethesda is very aggressive up top and they were allowed to play very physical all game. The good news is the Eels will return every single player who played meaningful minutes next year.

That's great. I'll be rooting for you.

Interestingly enough…after we had this convo…Clay City’s Eelite broadcasting group is going to livestream the BC vs Sullivan game after some sponsors from the BC area reached out to them.

I believe that there are 3 possible theories here.

    1. Woodson's seat was never even warm

    2. THe seat was hot Dolson has his guy lined up and the BOT or President said no way

    3. Woodson has been told that he just needs to step away after the season. He had his vote of confidence which quiets one side of the discussion and IU does not have to fire him. Win win.

My guess is 1. or 3.   I also bet this max exodus of players isn't true either.... This could definitely age poorly, but with Ware posting a picture of Woody cheesing it up on Instagram tells me he is backing Woodson....I could see Gunn and/or Banks leaving, but I am betting Gallo, Cupps, Reneau, and hopefully MM returning.

Little under a 2hr drive from me... I live in Columbus, not Brownstown.

I'd assume you guys will have quite a few more ppl there than your opponent.

Yes, probably all of Clay City will attend plus many alumni lol at WRV against Bloomfield, Clay City probably filled up 65-70% of the gym

Lol forget the whole last post... we are both getting sent to.Washington.

    I'll probably be there.

Well you were right about Northview lol I will be there….my sons will be with a group of boys sitting down low in the “dog pound” lol

best of luck to your team as well!

I edited my first comment.. you guys will get sent to Martinsville, I think.

Although--- you and Northview might both get sent to Lebanon, too. Idk stupid Lebanon is a host in the south.

In the past we have been sent to Martinsville. Lebanon is an outlier lol that’s for sure….kind of like although very historic New Castle being a South Semi-State host lol

Be interesting to see where they send us all.

I think Washington, Loogootee, and Southridge all getting to host is lame.

Yea curious to see too. Interestingly enough Northview won too so would be crazy if Northview and Clay City go to the same regional site. Clay County would fill the gym by itself. I’m curious to see where CC goes. Washington, Loogootee, Seymour, Martinsville all seem like possibilities.

Boot on his right leg. Hope he’s ok.

Could be trying to immobilize it on the week off, just to be safe.  Remember he hurt it two games back...my guess is precautionary, but I could be wrong.

As of right now I think Sisley goes to Purdue while Mullens and Moreno go to IU. That said there's still time for things to play out.

I hate to hear that on Sisley. I always assumed with some family ties and his location he’d be a strong IU lean…

Most points you have personally witnessed a player score ?

In person in a high school games…I watched Brody Boyd drop 44 on Clay City one year….i once dropped 49 in a competitive adult rec league lol

along this note, was anyone in here a big time player in HS?

Myself I was a 3 year starter for Clay City. 3 time All conference…avg 17 my senior year. I had some D-II offers, but didn’t go play college, chose to stay close to home.
