  1. Wouldn't be allowed. However, there is nothing to stop the fans from chanting his name and cheering him anyways.
  2. Too bad we don't have a chance with him. On top of being a great player, he seems like a guy that would be great to have on the team. Supportive of his teammates.
  3. He's not super athletic or explosive but he's a baller. Smart player who knows how to use what he does have. Has decent range and is also a very good passer from what I've seen. There's a reason he's ranked as highly as he is despite not being freakishly athletic.
  4. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/scouting-reports-what-the-national-analysts-have-said-about-liam-mcneeley/
  5. He seems so anti-IU at this point that I don't count him as a Hoosier anymore.
  6. Serious boomer vibes in his posts. He's not even self-aware enough to see the irony of complaining about social media on social media. I think I rolled my eyes so hard that I may have injured myself. He's so bitter.
  7. This author uses a lot of words to say, "I don't know." https://bustingbrackets.com/2023/10/13/ncaa-basketball-recruiting-kansas-indiana-best-spot-5-star-liam-mcneeley/
  8. They overlooked those sanctions/pending sanctions before NIL so with NIL involved...definitely.
  9. IU's staff is putting in the work here so if he chooses to go somewhere else it won't be due to lack of effort. That's all you can really ask of from the coaching staff in a recruitment.
  10. Yep, for a very highly ranked kid who could well be a one and done 1st round selection, picking a school mostly based on NIL would be extremely short sighted. Which school he believes would have a better choice at improving his draft position would be the better choice even if the NIL was less. All things being equal, then the NIL might factor in but I bet there are other things that are higher priority to someone like that: style of play, how he would be used, how they would improve his game, relationship with the staff, relationship with the players, exposure, etc. Someone like that is probably highly competitive so winning might be a factor. Between IU and Kansas, a lot of those things will be either the same or close. McNeeley has said that relationships and how the staffs have recruited him (length of time and level of involvement) are important to him. I don't see any reason to not believe him and IU has the advantage in those aspects, I think.
  11. So a coach who sticks with a game plan which isn't working in two separate games isn't getting out coached? If the same game plan doesn't work both times it is utilized is it really a good game plan? Coaches come up with the game plans and make adjustments as needed. Failing to do so would indicate he was outcoached in both games. So head-to-head against Painter, it would appear that Woodson is the better coach. The above examples from last year plus 3-1 overall in favor of Woodson and very close to 4-0.
  12. Yikes. Hopefully, it was just a bad day and another month of practice to play together and jell will fix whatever issues they had.
  13. Good to know but JHS was also at Montverde and played with Queen for a year. So it may not have anything to do with IU but it certainly doesn't hurt that one of his former teammates went to IU and improved his draft stock.
  14. Yep, he's a legend there because he's a HOF coach who has the most wins in NCAA men's history. He's willing to still be involved to help prevent a drop off after his retirement and the only thing they have to do is hire the coach he wants. It would be pretty arrogant of the AD to think he would be a better evaluator of coaching talent than Coach K plus make the right hire to continue to win while also pissing of the outgoing legendary coach. It's pretty much a win-win for the AD to do it the way they did. Either they keep on winning and he looks smart or they fail to win and he can pretty much pass it it off as he was just doing what Coach K recommended.
  15. Hardware? I doubt the championships from 36+ years ago will do much to sway recruits. Play style, if they can get to the NBA, and relationships will be the motivation. Both schools have had success in not only getting players into the NBA recently, but also getting them from not expected to be drafted to drafted or improving their draft position. I do know that they players Woodson has worked with are vocal about his coaching helping them.
  16. Like I said, it isnt/wasn't a package deal. More of "it would be cool if we played together" without anything as definite as "we're going to play together." It makes sense since some of the schools McNeeley was considering overlapped with Queen and Flagg while Queen and Flagg didn't have that overlap. I think McNeeley is closer to Queen than Flagg so that pair is more likely to have their decisions have some influence on each other. McNeeley and Queen made many visits together, including both IU OV.
  17. I think they've talked about it and would like to play together but they've never been a package deal so I think they'll make independent decisions. That said, landing McNeeley certainly wouldn't hurt in the Queen recruitment.
  18. Yes, that was from back on Sept. 25 and it was what you said. Arkansas trip was canceled.
  19. I doubt he uses that year. I don't think he'll transfer because he's already working as a real estate agent around Bloomington. I think he'll concentrate on that.
  20. Woodson visiting today: https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Article/indiana-basketball-recruiting-indiana-coach-mike-wooson-scheduled-to-see-5-stars-liam-mcneeley-derik-queen-today-at-montverde-217092276/
  21. In some cases it could be but I think in this case it's just subtraction by subtraction. That's a lot of talent and scoring gone and what remains isn't that great. Plus, Howard is still the coach.
