Not sure IU can afford to gamble on a coach if they replace CMW. It really has to be a slam dunk hire and that takes top level money. Sampson had success at OK but came with baggage, recruited questionable players, and blew up the program. Crean was solid at Marq, did the very slow rebuild at IU and had some success but couldn't sustain it and didn't make many friends at the end. Archie was the young rising hope riding a wave of success at Dayton. Didn't like doing all the things that go with being coach at IU, lost a lot, and did absolutely nothing in his time. CMW is the former Hoosier great, older, looking to restore the program, got them back to the tourney twice but things have seemingly blown up this season and can't buy a recruit... literally. CMW is coming back. Barring some transfer portal miracle or a decommit that ends up in Bloomington, he's got one season left. IU better have a plan, loads of money and a lock or two in mind.

Great start but as we've seen many times this season no lead is safe. Not committed to getting a good shot each possession. Not committed to blocking out every time. Not committed to being fundamentally solid for 40 minutes.

Xs career in one play. Blows by the defender but misses the easiest layup possible. The only way it would be more fitting is if he got hurt on the play.

A win today and four in a row would be no small feet. For all the turmoil this season, and when it looked like they had quit, credit to the coaches and players for continuing to fight. I don't think it changes the outcome of this season but it could have been much worse. The real battle starts after the season.

Losing one recruit is not the end of IU baskerball. The kid could have helped but he wasn't going to turn them into title contenders by himself. The bigger problem is two straight years of missing on key targets with no legit backups to fill in the gaps. They were fortunate to land Ware and MM the way they did. The question is, what's happened in recruiting? If the money is there, and you've sent two guys to the NBA last season why are you struggling? What's IU lacking in the process?

This offseason will determine CMWs future. They missed on big recruits last year and had zero backup plan. They were fortunate to get Ware and MM. Now they're at zero recruits for the next class. That leaves two options. 1. Convince Ware and some others to come back next season. 2. Hit a homerun in the portal with multiple legit players. No chance option 1 works. Ware is not returning and you expect others to transfer. So, it's the portal or nothing. The good news is, you offer enough NIL money and you have a chance to work a miracle. But if you don't get it right and next season is worse than this season, it's the end of CMW. CMW boasts of telling his assistants IU needed to go after the best players. Most agree. What may be his fatale mistake is having zero backup options for two straight years.

It's not the fans. Every fanbase is negative when losing. There's a team to the south that calls for their coach to be fired after every loss.

Great effort. Ugly at times but nothing new there. Ware - enjoy him in an IU uniform while you can. Trey with another big assist game and strong defense. Take away some unexplainable turnovers and it's one of his better games.

X has to be drunk, high or both.

I'll be happy for the team if they can close it out tonight, but you know they would lose with this same effort against better teams. Likely another 20+ smack down against top level teams.

Wish we could be in the team film study when they talk good shot vs bad shot. I'd play the X hurry up baseline force that has no chance and I'd call that a bad shot. Then I'd show MM squared up jumper in rhythm and I'd call that a good shot. The fact your super senior doesn't get it explains why IU has to win the conf tourney if they want ti dance this season.

Walker was fouled on that play. Bodied while shooting. No foul called and an injury.

If MR picks up a quick third foul I'd sit him until the last five minutes or until Ware gets in foul trouble. He's got to learn to defend without fouling.

That was painful to watch. CMW needs to call out the guards. The next no look or behind the back pass leading to a turnover should put them on the bench for the rest of the night. Unfortunately, he doesn't have anyone else to go to. It's Trey, X and Cupps no matter how they play.

Should be up by 10+ now. U forced errors fir know real reason other than not being smart.

Drug test the guards because somethings not right. At this rate they'll have 20 turnovers between them.

I'd call a timeout to ask my guards what they are thinking. Just stupid crap passes by your Senior captains.

Wasted possessions trying to play fast and trying to make the highlight pass. Hard enough to beat the opponent but iU spends large portions of games fighting themselves.

Malik just doesn't learn. I guess he will enjoy the rest of the half watching.

Defense and rebounding. And defense includes not sending them to the line while IUs players get sent to the bench.

Much like the "recruiting gurus", you can't believe 99% of the garbage provided online. It's just attention wh0res looking to see who will run with their supposed inside information. What you have to understand and accept is today's teams anticipate losing multiple players every offseason win or lose. Rebuilding is college basketball. College basketball is rebuilding. The portal is destroying the game but that's how it is. More important, do you want some of these kids back if they can't get on the floor for a team that has already lost 13 games? I like all the kids on the team but there are some who really need to move on if they want to play and that's been part of the game for decades. Nothing new.

What? They just switched to Michigan v OSU game. How? Why?

Gotta finish smart. Can't foul and give up easy points. Make them score baskets to win. Be ready for the press. Gonna be a fight to the finish.

How many players and teams that can't shoot or score suddenly light up IU this season? It's not coincidence. Just as IU was closing late they do their best to help the other team stretch the lead. Frustration.
