  1. They initially thought he was ahead of schedule, but after some tests this week, I heard he was not healing as fast as expected. They did not specifically give a date, but my guess is that, based on the original expectation, it will be the 2nd or 3rd week of May before he is back playing. Probably a rehab stint after that. So, 3rd or 4th week of May seems reasonable.
  2. Elly De La Cruz having a big week. If he's finally starting to put it together, it's going to be special.
  3. I actually have a Steve Jeltz story Growing up, my dad knew a guy who had season tickets at Riverfront, first row in the section at the corner of the dugout closest to the visitor on-deck circle. My dad had already passed, but I was in my early 20's and mom and I were still able to get tickets a few times from this guy. My brother, who was 11 years younger than me was baseball crazy and I made sure to take him to some games just like dad did with me. Anyway, one of those games, the Reds were playing the Phillies. Jeltz came out on deck and the lady behind my right shoulder started to yell encouraging words to Steve, She had not done that with any other player, so I assumed she knew, or was related to, Jeltz. I turned around and asked her how she knew Steve. She was vague, saying something like the Phillies instructed family members and friends not to share too much information for their own safety. Or, maybe she just thought I was a creep. I ended up talking to her quite a bit during the game, but I respected her privacy and never pushed to find out if she was wife, girlfriend, sister, etc.
  4. My Next Job Interview Interviewer: "Mr. Fouls, what do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment;" Me: Using both of the Iorg brothers n the same Immaculate Grid. 17 today.
  5. Would make for some interesting matchups against Minnesota (Gophers).
  6. Has Casual Gay Marie weighed in on the hire yet?
  7. It's a common trait shared by schools like Incarnate Word, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Texas Southern, Cal State-Northridge, Mercer, and Purdue. It's sad in a way that not every school can be UCLA, Kentucky, UConn, UNC, Indiana, or Duke.
  8. I'm the opposite. While I certainly remember Wakefield with the Red Rox, as a Reds fan, I clearly recall his time with the Pirates. Knuckleball pitchers have always fascinated me. I saw where Wakefield's daughter threw out the first pitch before a game at Fenway earlier this week.
  9. Yeah. I scanned the list they provided in the summary. Cole and Wakefield were right next to each other,. Never crossed my mind. But, my excuse was it was late at night.
  10. UK fans refreshing themselves on their Hail Mary prayers.
  11. Not good at all. I started out by being cute and choosing some low hanging fruit on the "One Team' category. And, then I got totally stuck on Pirates 2K Strikeouts other than Cole. Killed thousands of brain cells for 15 minutes and simple could not come up with anyone else.
  12. Watching the Cubs vs padres on TBS I love Bob Costas on the mic for a baseball game.
  13. If Edey was allowed to enter the WNBA draft, Caitlin Clark would still be the #1 pick.
  14. I'm interpreting this to mean you don't think they will make it back to the Final Four. Surprised to hear you say that about your favorite team.
  15. The most important piece of information from that is you still finished behind me.
  16. You get to rub Zach Edey's feet.
  17. 4 NL Central teams in the playoffs if the season ended today. Everyone but the Deadbirds.
  18. You being all defensive after losing on an IU board, I repeat, an IU board, is not a good look.
  19. They are the best program over the last 30 years.
  20. Tonight's version of UConn is much improved over what we saw in December.
  21. UConn was the much better team going into the game and Purdue has played poorly.
