Purdue Postgame Thread

Played the #3 team in the nation down to the wire with a total Frankenstein roster. CAM is the real deal. I can't wait to see what he does with a full, balanced roster that he himself recruited and coached. Hard to be pissed about this game. Except for a few boneheaded plays, it looked like they were playing to win, just came up on the ass end of the final score. GG all around and hella entertaining to watch.

I’m not blaming them just adding that we don’t get home cooking like some. We need outside shooting and point guards. We have neither.

It p%&@&% me off that we have not gotten any respect on our home court from the officials!!! What we have endured over the last decade or so would never have happened under Bobbie's watch!!  I'm encouraged by the fact that CAM has gotten in to the officials on occasion unlike some of our previous coaches!

Not a purdue troll but if it was so clear how did it not even get noticed by any of the coverage. On the replay they even said it was a good block and bad break. How red is the tint on your glasses.

Just admit that the better team won.

Be honest, when it mattered Archie got out coached again.

I'll be honest, I'll take Archie over porkchop any day

Was at the game and CAM coached his a$$ off. One thing that he does that Crean never figured out is subbing just before and then using the TV timeout to rest the guys.  Juwan is becoming the Alpha dog that CAM was looking for.  If he stays, we could be really good next year.  It was also great seeing Vic at the game and how he is revered.  I didn’t see him have any contact with the team and was wondering if this would be an NCAA no-no since he is an active NBA player....

Wasn't there some controversy years ago when Zeke attended a game?

Agreed. Archie put the last two minutes on him for not calling time outs and getting the team better organized which I appreciate. A good coach will step in and take the heat off his players. The only coaching move he made that I question was when Painter took a TO right after the under 4 break. It was obvious he did it to set up a play to Haas assuming Morgan would be guarding him with 4 fouls. Would have liked to see him anticipate that and throw McSwain at him to challene the play more. Then call a TO to get Morgan back in. Otherwise he has his team ready to play and play well they did. The people bashing RoJo and Newkirk are out of line. They both played very well in their own right the entire game. It was jusy untimely for their two TO’s. Kids are trying to make a play. It doesn’t always work. The effort was there and Im proud of they way the entire team played today

Hey BEKA.   I totally agree with this post.  Despite some of the language at the end.  Don't be a stranger to HSN 3.0 from here on out.

I vaguely remember some sort of issue....I just found it odd that he didn’t sit behind the bench, shake hands with the team or Archie at any point and then had a security escort walk him out the opposite side of AH as the IU locker room.  Maybe he did have contact behind the scenes but I was just curious as to why there seemed to be no public rah-rah stuff with the team....struck me as odd.  I also know there were recruits there and wasn’t sure if Vic could at least introduce himself to them :-)

Yeah, I can't remember myself.  But I know Zeke sat behind the bench.

Me thinks Green is gone.

So do I because he just does not fit this system.  I guess why I have been so hard on him is the fact that I really thought he would be our big breakout player this year and he has not came close to contributing what I thought he would.

Well the way he played in the Illinois game was horrendous.  Hell, he wouldn't fit into my system!!!!!!

Just got home from the game.

-Just very deflating. Felt like we earned the win for 38 minutes and then literally handed them the real W. That's the third time we have done that this year, in my opinion. Archie >>> Painter

-Archie is the man. If he had last year's IU team, we would have beat Purdue by 12 tonight. We just don't have any scorers. I hate having to wait, but I think games like this would be more of a reason for Romeo to come to IU. See the atmosphere and passion, and then see how close we are...if we only had another scorer or two.

-Victor sat on the sideline opposite the bench. Early in the game, Victor and Archie were talking across the floor. Vic was yelling things he was seeing, and Archie seemed receptive of it. I thought that was really cool.

-After a bad call in the 2nd half, Victor got one of the referees to come over for a conference and he gave him an ear full. That wasn't the only time he got in to the refs ear.
