Popular Post Hoosierinbham
This will be my first game ever at Ohio State. I grew up in Fort Wayne with parents from Ohio. Dad was a huge Buckeyes fan. I attended IU. I've cheered for IU (1a) and OSU (1b) all my life. Lost my dad on Memorial Day this year, and we never made a game there together. This Saturday will be special for many reasons.
bronkonagurski
The 5th ranked Indiana Hoosiers travel to Columbus to face the 2nd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on 11/23 for a 12:00pm ET kickoff on FOX. For the first time this season, IU will enter a game as an underdog, with Ohio State being favored anywhere from -10.5 to -11.5 points. In terms of SP+ rankings, Indiana is currently #11 overall, 15th on offense, 12th on defense and 7th on special teams. Ohio State is currently #1 overall, 6th on offense, 1st on defense and 22nd on special teams. Ohio State leads the all time series 79-12-5. The Buckeyes have won 28 straight against IU. The most recent meeting was a 23-3 victory for OSU on 9/1/2023 in Bloomington. IU's last non-losing result against OSU was a 27-27 tie in Bloomington on 10/13/1990, and IU's last win was the infamous Darkest Day in Ohio State Football History when IU beat OSU 41-7 on 10/1/1988 in Bloomington, which followed a 31-10 victory over OSU on 10/10/1987, which was the first time IU won consecutive games versus the Buckeyes since stringing together 4 consecutive wins in 1903, 1904, 1905 and 1913. Which, interesting side note that IU was 5-0-1 in the first 6 historical matchups vs OSU. Ladies and gentlemen, history is that. It is simply history. Let's close those dusty history books, put them back on the shelf, and continue writing a new chapter of Indiana football history. All that matters is going 1-0 in Ohio State week. We have the coaching and talent to compete with Ohio State. We deserve to play on the same playing surface, be it the Horseshoe or the parking lot. We will win. We will shock some parts of the world, but I know many of us will not feel shocked at all. Go IU! 4

This Saturday will be special for many reasons. It’s a great place to see a game. My daughter danced there so we’ve seen many. It’s an impressive stadium. We were fans while there but never lifelong or even now. Enjoy the experience. Get out early. With Gameday and BNK there plus a top 5 matchup it’s going to be an absolute mob seen. The traffic is atrocious and parking is difficult the later you go. Being there on Gameday is an experience like no other. Enjoy every minute!! 1
13th&Jackson
It makes no sense that this is a noon start. Can't believe they didn't move this into prime time.

For whatever reason the BIG has decided to put their best game all year into that noon time slot. Lots of eyes for that marquee matchup. Then all eyes shift to the SEC for the primetime slot. That’s just my guess. 🤷♂️

Not exactly prime advertising Yep. And to add to that, none of those west coast teams should ever have to play a game at 9:00 their time. So I agree with you but they also have to spread all those games out. They can’t put all of them at 3:30 and 7:30. But for me I think that big game should be at least at 3:30.
Reacher
IF we win by a touchdown or more, are we the new #1 team? Beating OSU at their place would be a step above Oregons narrow victory at home. We could really expose some brand bias in that scenario
Reacher
Is there more pressure on IU or OSU? If we cover the spread, looks like we are safely in? Edited November 17 by Reacher

Clearly those guys don’t respect IU and not so much OSU or the big ten for that matter. Question Who have you beat? Answer. Everyone we have played and by a lot for most. Not many going to claim that and a lot of 2 lose teams have a questionable or borderline lose on their resume. Good thing the committee likes us and has us top 5 because some of the so called experts can’t get your passed their SEC biases.

OSU is at home, has one loss as you say, has $20M invested in this team and Ryan Day has a rep for not winning big games. If OSU loses at home to IU, he’ll get torched. IU needs to be within one score going into the 4th.

5fouls
The whole playoff thing has me stressed about a game that I should be looking forward to. In previous years, this would just be for positioning on which New Year's Day bowl we get invited to. Even with a loss, 4th place in the B1G was going to get you something to be proud of and a nice vacation spot for the Holidays. Now, it's a scenario if you lose in the wrong manner, you might not even get invited to the dance. And, let's not kid ourselves. If the committee last week can drop Georgia all the way from the 3rd spot to out of the rankings after losing to Ole Miss, and this week drop Tennessee all the way out of the rankings after losing to Georgia (it will happen), then we can suffer the same fate if we lose on Saturday. BobSaccamanno
1. Get their guys on the ground. Sound tackling. They have athletes but if you’re sound and get them on the ground, it’s key. Instead of a 12 yard play, you don’t want it to go 40. 2. Neutralize their pass rush. 3. Keep the turnovers way down.
Reacher
Going to be a long week waiting for this game. I've already had a few non IU friends mention they plan on watching this Sat to see what this IU team is all about. Fox was promoting the game during the Bears telecast on Sun. With Game Day and Big Noon, a top 5 matchup, Playoff implications, the story of IU, I think it will have huge viewership- even in the 11am slot (I'm on Central time). Time for Coach Cig to start earning that $72M!
