So, I'm scrolling through Facebook about 30 minutes ago and some random Beach Volleyball post is in my feed.

So, I stop and look.  Im not going to lie.  The image was appealing to the eyes.

But, i don't click the linked 'story' that accompanies the image.  I don't add a comment.  I don't even clock 'like'.  I simply pause for 10-15 seconds and look.

I exit facebook, come back 30 minutes later, and 80% of my feed are images involving beach volleyball.

Don't get me wrong, if I get an occasional beach volleyball image in my feed, that's great.  Maybe one in the morning to get the day kick-started right.

But, entirely taking over my feed?  Because I paused for 10-15 seconds?  Now, I gave to block beach volleyball images, and that makes me sad.

The increasingly obvious peril of our times. So much good but so much bad.

Australia leading the way banning it for kids. The new studies on how it impacts teenage thinking are truly wild to me.

And the best part is they’re mining your data to show you ads. They don’t need to listen to your phone - if you have Facebook installed, you have given it root level access to every keystroke on your phone. They know more about you than you do.  If you’re not being charged, you’re the product!
