BobSaccamanno Posted December 5, 2017 Report Share Posted December 5, 2017 Newkirk, as a senior starter, is a spot where we can have some improvement. Rob is steady and can drive and defend. Juwan, other than outside shooting, is a complete player and a gamer. He gets it. Davis is a young guy who is improving. Durham is a freshman so there is an experience deficit. But, Newkirk is a guy who can improve. His main thing in my mind is playing within himself. He should be playing smarter. I like Devontae but we need to trust him with the ball more, so Newkirk by necessity needs to play smarter, take what’s there, stop forcing it, etc. That’s a key spot where we should get better play. We are not breaking the zone, so far, by the pass to the middle, we're swinging it around the perimeter and then taking a three.
