IU Scott
The Reds the last 4 games are 2-2 despite being out scored 18-6. They played 37 innings in those games and only scored in 4 of those innings

Seeking6
Fitting quote from White Sox player given our discussion yesterday. How about this BA/OBP for Yasmani Grandal so far: .121/.388 "I'm done swinging at pitches that they want me to swing at. If you make a mistake, I'm going to crush you. If you don't then I'm going to walk."

5fouls
Stupid random stat of the day. Eric Hosmer of the Padres is the only qualifying batter with a negative average launch angle on the season https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/statcast?type=batter&year=2021&position=&team=&min=q&sort=3&sortDir=asc Since 2015, only 3 players have completed an entire year with a negative average launch angle. Hosmer has one of those seasons, in 2018. Edited May 9, 2021 by 5fouls

5fouls
Stupid Random Stat of the Day In the 2002 season, there were 3 qualifying starting pitchers that averaged over 10 strikeouts per 9 innings. Their names? Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, and Pedro Martinez. A pretty dang good group. So far this season, there are 15 qualifying starting pitchers averaging over 10 strikeouts per 9 innings. It's an impressive list. No scrubs in the group. But, 15 compared to 3? The game has changed. https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/player/_/view/pitching/season/2021/seasontype/2/table/pitching/sort/strikeoutsPerNineInnings/dir/desc

5fouls
Stupid Random Stat of the Day. Mark Canha of the A's has been hit by the pitch 9 times so far this season through Oakland's first 36 games. Over the full season, this would project to him getting hit 40.5 times, which would be 5th all-time (2nd all-time in the modern era). Hughie Jennings holds the record at 51 in 1896. The modern record was set in 1971 by Ron Hunt with 50. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/HBP_season.shtml https://www.mlb.com/stats/hit-by-pitch?expanded=true
