  3. With hindsight now, the correct capsule line for (Steph) Curry should have been, “2 Star Body; 3Star Recruit; 5 Star Player.” Certainly, Curry’s rise from 2006 to 2015 MVP is an exceptional story but after 3 years at Davidson, averaging 21.5, 25.9 and 29.6 and leading the Southern Conference Wildcats to an NCAA Elite 8, he quickly proved he wasn’t the 3 Star player at all. Before he even played a game, McKillop was quoted widely, “Wait until you see Steph Curry. He’s something special.” So, if there are lessons to be learned in this saga, what are they? 1. Most High School rankings a

  5. Looking at his per 40 minutes numbers, one thing stands out to me... Parker's assist and turnover numbers went way up at UT Martin (while everything else remained pretty steady) which suggests to me he was their primary ball handler...more of a point guard than a 2 (which, looking at his highlights, I think he'd not only be more accustomed to playing the 2, and better suited for as well)...He won't be asked to do that much at IU with the players we already have, and I think that'll be a boon to the other parts of his game...

  7. Not sure what SS is hearing. Just read a Peegs article that said this: "There's an open question of whether we'll see him play in the current season once he has officially enrolled at Indiana for the upcoming semester. Normally that would be complicated by giving eligibility, but the pandemic means nobody is using up eligibility this season." I don't see a downside....even if he doesn't get much playing time. No loss in eligibility and an open roster spot.

  14. I am convinced that Archie Miller can and will coach. Been following Archie Miller closely since I have lived in Dayton Ohio since '82. University of Dayton had a relatively bare cupboard when CAM arrived. His team-oriented defense first emphasis is followed closely by his reliance on a floor general to initiate the offense. Since his arrival at Indiana, the latter part, the point guard situation, has been one of the team's biggest...ahem...issues. I had and still have hopes for Rob Phinesee to initiate the offense more quickly by penetration immediately. The quick pass or drive an

  20. I love that he has good size for a guard. 6'5", can handle and shoot the ball. Not seeing any downside here at all. Welcome to IU, Parker!

  24. i mean i'm good with Lander getting more and more time and really even Al getting a little less, but again, Lander has a long way to go and Al helps us more right now. will that be the same in a month? maybe not. will it not matter much in month? maybe not.

  25. "I just feel like it's a good fit overall, and the tradition at the school I just couldn't overlook," Stewart told ESPN on Tuesday. "I have known [assistant coach Kenya] Hunter for awhile now; he recruited me at Nebraska while I was in high school and when I left Pitt. I feel me and him have a good relationship and that I can trust him, and my father thought highly of him as well.

  30. Excellent analysis. I really can't see Northwestern hanging with OSU so I think we are good there. I guess I am with with @btownqbin rooting for Iowa State to beat up Oklahoma because I don't trust the committee to drop Iowa St below us after the Florida situation. I really would love to see Bama kick the sh*& out of Florida after this ranking fiasco. I would feel better if Coastal Carolina lost to Troy in that tight game...hoping they lose this week or I think they could jump us. Bottom line: This committee is a joke. GO Tulsa, Iowa St, Bama, Lousiana, and O

  31. I can’t comment on whether he’s a great teammate or selfish. I’d have no idea. That’s for the coaching staff to decipher. I will say those are deal breakers for me. Having said that, this kid wins me over because he’s tough and from what I’ve seen he has a strong motor. His rebounding stats speak for themselves. He might just be a tiger out there. If Archie is satisfied with his attitude, then I like what he brings to the table. He also can go get a bucket. We haven’t had enough guys like that.

  33. His father passed away out of the blue at the young age of 50. I didn’t realize that it just happened less than a month ago. On another note, it has been already discussed how successful he’s been graduating on an accelerated pace. I am soooo pulling for this kid. As a player, he gives us a dynamic scorer. We need that to get a guy who can generate offense besides TJD. I mentioned this early in this thread but he’s got an absolutely insane quick release.

  35. I agree. I would much rather roll the dice with talent of his level than not. With a shooter in the fold now I could really see Aminu complementing Lander, Rob, and Armaan. I worry about our size inside...you can’t replace a TJD but maybe just maybe we kill teams by a thousand little cuts.

  36. I think he might be just fine motivation wise...my only pause has ever been is if the guardian would become overwhelming...I’m sure he has the best intentions but some comments come off as pretty aggressive. All and all I’d rather him come and we find out...if he gets mad the way transfer are now he could leave if he’s not willing to buy in. Obviously not ideal but kids have an easier path to “move on” if that’s what they want.

  37. The highest any of the 62 voters in the AP poll have Florida is 8th, and somehow the committee thinks they should be 7th. I have no doubt we're going to get screwed out of a NY6 bowl. They don't even try to hide the fact that the name on the front of the jersey is 75% of how they rank teams.

  38. Yes, he has two years of eligibility. He is eligible to play during the second semester of this season, and would still have 2 years of eligibility if he were to play any during this season. It's still up in the air on whether or not he will play at all during this season, per Jeff Borzello.

  42. Archie knows how to coach. He had some leftover guys the last couple years and coached them to their strengths. This is really the first year of an ideal team for him and the offense is producing good shots - you just have 4* and 5* recruits missing them. IUs defense alone will keep them in almost all of their games. Offense just has to execute. Bottom line - IU is in great hands (I know you know this too!).
