  1. Guys beat me to it, but in my 73 years of life, I don't think I've ever seen anything like what happened in the Yankees game. Boone gets ejected in the 1st inning by the home plate umpire because of a fan heckling! Crazy

Aaron Boone ejected in first inning of Yankees' game against A's (mlb.com)

Yanks lose 2-0 and wasted a 1 hit gem by Rodon, by far his best outing in pinstripes. Don't know what it is with the Yankees as they seem to struggle beating teams with losing records. Yank hitteres were limited to 3 hits for the whole game.

Harry never actually retired though, did he? I thought they had signed Chip for the upcoming season but Harry died just before spring training.

Couldn't tell ya, I am not a Cubs fan.....

Harry just came to mind as one of the great team announcers

Yeah, the Reds decided to take a chance.  He’s 2-2 so far, but hasn’t been as strong as they’d hoped.  I’m not sold on him, but perfectly willing to give him more time.  He threw 66 pitches into the third inning and 32 were balls.  He had no command of his pitches whatsoever.

That's the Montas Yankee fans remember....

Hope he turns it around for you guys

Not a good start for the Reds starter Frankie Montas after facing 4 batters

    Walk

    Walk

    Homer

    Walk

29 pitches and no outs down 3-0

Seattle has one if the worst offenses In the league and has 5 batters under .200 in the lineup

Just now walked lead off in 3rd followed with another home run.  He’s walked five in 2 innings.  Take him out. He’s thrown over 65 pitches.

Yankees were glad to get rid of him, damaged goods.....

  5. Just announced that Mr. The Yankees Win, The Yankees Win guy, and the voice of the Yankees, John Sterling, has announced he is retiring, effective immediately. He is in his 80's and I hope it doesn't have anything to do with his health. I know how Cub fans felt when Harry Carey gave up broadcasting.

I'll miss his hokey homerun calls......

Jeff Borzello: Kentucky clearly took big swings in the hours and days after John Calipari left for Arkansas. Jay Wright distanced himself from the job quickly, as did Hurley and Donovan. Kentucky reached out to Nate Oats, who released a statement saying he was staying at Alabama. Shaka Smart was on the list; he also wasn't leaving. Drew mulled the decision for a day but declined. Kentucky made one more run at Hurley, offering him a huge salary -- but he once again decided to stay. And that left Pope as the next name on the list, a former Kentucky player who won a national championship in Lexington. The potential targets on the next tier were all flawed in one way or another, and Pope's connections to the school and understanding of the expectations gave him an edge.
Pope doesn't have the résumé some of the other potential candidates possessed, never winning an NCAA tournament game or a regular-season title and spending only one year coaching in a high-major conference. But he's got some name recognition, especially in Lexington, and he'll understand what being the head coach of Kentucky entails. The expectations are going to be enormous from day one, however, something he hasn't dealt with during his time at Utah Valley and BYU.

So let me see, pUKe hires a "pUKe" guy foir the HC job??

    Man that sounds eerily familiar....

At this point I'm sure managers are just laughing at him.....so not sure going ballistic would help. I will say though it will not surprise me at some point if a player loses it.

True, but Boone does have a history of getting ejected, especially last year when the Yanks were awful...

Saw it when it first happened and was like when is MLB just going to put this guy out of his misery. At some point a player is just going to lose it and do something in the moment.

I think it's like his 3rd or 4th major screw up already this year and only a week in.

I was surprised Boone didn't go ballistic on him....

  9. Yankees take 2 of 3 from the Blue Jays and are now 8-2. If you would have told me the Bronx Bombers would have swept the the Arse-Stroles in 4 games (at Minute Maid Stadium), then go to Arizona, a WS team, and take 2 of 3 games, I would have thought you were crazy!!

In today's game Stanton belts a grand "Stantonian" slam!!! I know it's early, but this old man is enjoying it....
