Using transfers has been Hoibergs MO before at Iowa state too. I wonder how he feels about it now. He won big (relatively speaking) on transfers at ISU. Gotta do what you can to get talent.

I think love knows what’s there playing time wise and style. Him and Nimari will have full autonomy and you will see Jett and Bufkin 2.0, with Reid down low. There’s michigans offense this year. Kind of makes his dads “he wants to be coached hard and held accountable” comment seem ridiculous. But Michigan will put up some points this year.

Agree. Need that 40 percent spot up shooter and has the athleticism to take it to the whole and jam on people. I think our quickness on D would be a little exploited. But we would have 2 dudes in at all times to protect the paint.

I also feel like if thats true with Reneau, sparks, Deloach, ware..that’s a lot of 4-5 guys and I can’t see any playing the wing much.

So if true. Big if. That leaves 1 spot for Knecht and we’re done. I’d be super pumped with that.

Just basic stuff. Nothing crazy. Fit, playing time, player usage, goals etc. same thing every player goes through in the transfer process. But it wasn’t 1 call and an immediate I’m coming.

From what I have heard from people who know him personally who I work with, there was more to it than that, unless they are feeding me stuff that wasn’t true. But yeah wanting to go to IU because it’s IU was a big part.

I would think coach has a couple years left at least. And we’re playing better. See what this season holds. May has a lot of his FAU team back next year. They make another run ( make tourney win a game or two) he will be offered somewhere else if he isn’t this year. Probably won’t be a top 15 gig but a mid power 5 team (although we fall into that right now if I’m being honest non historically speaking). I think when the time comes we will have those talks to gauge interest if it’s still a thing. I love his demeanor on the sidelines and watching them switch on the perimeter was a thing of beauty.

My take on Love: 1. If the rumors (confirmed or unconfirmed whether you believe it or not by social media etc) about him hooking up with RJ Davis gf are true. That’s crappy. And the chemistry on UNC was trash this year. Poor body language and just overall sometimes love looked like he didn’t wanna be there . 2.However the coaching was also and the offense was broken. They play hero ball and whether they are told to or no it’s so much 1 on 1 play and they kick out or force up at the rim. Watching some of the UNC games this year it was comical watching their offense. 3. love has a TON of talent and would be our most talented guard on the team if he reigned it in and played under control with much better shot selection. I’d welcome if it it happened and hope Coach can make him grow up quick. But I think it’s high risk high reward.

Seen him play close to 20 times at ball state over the past 2 years. Definitely physical inside and will go after rebounds. Has a decent 12 ft jumper but majority of points come in the paint. Biggest opportunity is at the line. Gets there a lot but missed a lot. Assume that will be a lot of emphasis from the staff. He’s a banger with good touch around the rim. See him hit a lot of jumpers in warm ups and step out to three range a few times as well, but very rare. Needs to stay out of foul trouble too. Few games I watched he was out quick (playing the 3-4 foul game in and out the entire game) with fouls and BSU didn’t have much behind him. He did guard the teams biggest man every game as well playing the 5, so that contributed to the fouls. Seems like a good teammate and always plays with good energy. (Also work with a few people in Winchester who know him and all have very positive things to say) Very excited as I think he brings some toughness around the rim. He gives us 10 and 7 next year as a backup or starter I’ll be happy. Def has the ability to average 12-15 a game though if he get his free throws in order imo. I’d think in either role he’s seeing 20 minutes a game.

Athleticism, skills, motor. The teams that won had more skill, and a higher motor at critical points from what I saw. Def don’t need a 7 footer to win.
