Popular Post Steubenhoosier
This has been a f#%&ed up year. LEO is a message that should resonate across the country and not be limited to IU football. Allen is such an inspiration. I don’t know how a parent could turn down the message that Coach conveys. I don’t know how a kid could not want to be a part of what CTA is building. Guess I am a little pie in the sky but I gotta believe that IU football is gonna be a force, both on the field but also for the quality of young men being developed under the leadership of our coaches
Fiveoutofsix
Totally agree. It's real and as Urban mentioned is real. It's not just him, the coaching staff beleives in him. Up and down the staff, this arguably one of the most most talented staffs in IU history. It's going to elevate the program, and it has. IU has a brand. They have a + Adidas contract and they have invested in the football program and keeps investing. There strength and conditioning program is second to none and they are well respected amongst the high school community across the country. We shouldn't underestimate the IMG academy connection as well now. Hopefully, along with Allen, they pay the coaching staff. And, continue to upgrade the practice facilities. The product is now there, now it's time to prepare post covid, the gameday experience for fans. They have a chance to capture a new generation to be hard core IU football fans.

FritzIam4IU
I have no idea of his contract details, but IU needs to step up in a big way and pay him AND HIS STAFF to keep him here long term. Make him highest paid coach of Big Ten if necessary...but if IU is serious about being competitive in football, they need to keep CTA here for the long haul. Let's go Hoosiers!!

Leathernecks
And to think, a little over a year ago, a pretty large percentage of the fanbase was convinced he wasn't the right coach. Not saying that as a "haha" type of statement, just showing how quickly things have changed.

However.... let's not forget about John Pont.... who lead our Hoosiers to a Big Ten championship.... in his third year as coach at IU. IU went into the Rose Bowl ranked as high as # 4.... and would most likely have been ranked #1 had it not been for losing to the eventual national champ.... USC. We ARE on our way back up the ladder... Thanks to Coach Allen. Best hire Kevin Wilson ever made.

But let's remember that was over 50 years ago. A lot has changed in college football. The business of college football is enormous. The pressures to build a program, recruit, build a staff, WIN games is enormous. Coach Allen is/was under the daily microscope of regular media and social media. It's a different era, Mile. I think a more difficult era in many ways. Just this older guy's humble opinion. Edited November 22, 2020 by jv1972iu

And IU is in what I consider to be the toughest division. Actually would not want it to be any other way. Years ago. Colorado played Nebraska the day after Thanksgiving. This year Nebraska is playing Iowa. Just not the same.

Can't say they are not better or worse. Maybe they are beating each other up. Maybe early losses hurt chemistry and focus. Penn st. is 0-5, you can say that. We have the same number of wins as the 4 teams we beat, combined. 4. you can say its down while also saying IU is better. Your all caps part is crucial. We have to pay the staff too. Bielema used to complain about how he couldn’t keep staff because they could get paid more in the SEC.
