I think UConn is the only team left in the tournament that can beat Purdue…and even then it’s going to depend how the refs call it. Tennessee has nothing for them they’ve already shown that this year and Duke Nc St don’t have the size.  Hard to decide who to root for. UConn who is replacing us as a blue blood or Purdue who will make this board insufferable. I have to say probably Purdue though…that should be the slap in the face the university needs to wake up and right the ship and stop allowing them to own the state and our players.

No, there are a few teams out there that can give them a run.

The announcers are getting carried away with, " Can anyone stop UConn".

It's obvious, that the Iowa State game took it all out of them.

While UConn had it easy against SDSU.

Dont even know what you're referring to hopeium. No one is shooting rainbows and sunshine up peoples asses here. It the opposite.

Yes history says 2/3 tourney appearances. Over blown...!? the only thing over blown is that IU is a catastrophe.

If you cant get a little hyped up about bryson committing, I dont know what to tell you, but there is no hope. Not for IU, but for you.

Congrats to enjoying mediocrity. We needed a play in game to make it, then get blown out in the first round. It's ok, if just getting to the dance satisfies you that's fine. Welcome to the Stetson, Yale and the Longwood fanbase type.

Over blown Catastrophe: How many teams do you know that has ZERO recruits coming in next year on any team in the nation? We are in the wrong era when it comes to offense. How many ranked teams did we beat this past year with our 5-stars?

I don't get hyped up on names, I get hyped up on results. We have had little of that.

Bringing in a lot of players who never played together...chemistry will be key.

I never said I did not have hope. However, with this coach, I have no trust in him.

Let's see how he puts it together. But nothing really matters until results are on the floor next year.

I thought Bryson Tucker committing would buy a little time before this stuff spewed back up. Shame on me.

We are not dealing in fantasy or hopeium here. We have history behind us. Until a good product is on the floor let's put the over blown hopeium aside and be more realistic. Every year, it's...we have so and so, and so and so, we're going to have a good team, etc. The constant is the coach who walked out on the team and blamed them for the losses.

I get that. solely talking about buying players, What's the difference between buying transfers, or buying high school kids? the issue lies in having a team full of transfers, not in the "buying of players".

We bought a below average coach for 10 million. Isn't that right, Quinn.

When was the last time you heard of CMW or assistants hosting or going to a basketball clinic?

Does any opponent ever say IU is tough to prepare for or they run great stuff?

After watching darn near 100 games of men’s & women’s basketball the last 10 days it’s apparent there are some great coaches out there (Indiana HS too)

Utah State ran a bunch of 4/5 pick n roll to get open 3’s against Edey

IU had two bigs who shot 3’s at a high level…

    Exactly!!!

Exactly.  Terrible defender.  We can do better.  Yes, we need a shooter with size but we can’t compromise on D.  As bad as the complaints about shooting have been, we were just as bad defensively.  We need good perimeter defenders.

Agree on his weak defense, but his defense blunders are correctable if coached up.

As for Blackmon, the whole family has been lazy on defense.

Sorry but that is crazy, Leal was one of our best defenders.  He kept his man and ball in front of him way more than any bench player would have on the roster this year.  Kid has a high BB IQ which is what we need on this team.

Disagree. We'll have to see next year.

The portal should be a plus for IU.  You can prune the roster as you see fit and fill as many needs as you feel like it.  Priller wouldn’t be able to absorb a scholly for four years today.  With the amount of money involved at IU, with a good coach and proper infrastructure this can be a major benefit.  It’s a pity we blew it last year but hopefully as a program we will reap rewards in the future.

Gunn has a lot more upside than Leal ever will.

Leal belongs in a lower level like Ball State. Somewhat a decent defender, a liability when driving to the basket.

If Leal sees too much play time you can throw another season away.
